I'm thinking EV's buds will be there... Chris Chelios, John Cusack, etc.

From what I hear, Eddie will be singing the 7th inning stretch at the Cubs game on Thursday and John Cusack will be doing so on Friday 8-)

Howard Stern had Michael Buffer (the guy who says "Let's get ready to rumble!!!!!") to read a bunch of lines probably like 10 years ago. That one always stuck in my head.

NICE! I was disappointed that the Beacon had the fancy screen, I wanted the old-school marquee.

Thanks!!! This is so tough wish I would have planned to go ... my bad. This is the first time "not" seeing Eddie in Chicago. I know, he's only played solo twice in Chicago and thankfully got to go to both - easy when ya live there. Just feeling waves ~~~~~~~ of homesick right about now. Oh well! Enjoy! Enjoy! Chicago shows to me are always incredible! Give Ed lot's of hometown Lovin'! :D

Sweet, can't wait for the show!
He played "Hurt" and "Ship Song" back in 2008...I wonder what kind of rarities he'll bust out this time?

Alright now I'm curious what this private party was. Any chance you'll spill the beans now that it's next day?

I went to the "private party" at 8pm last night. I just walked in the front door like I belonged there and no one even asked me for ID or anything, there was even a sign on the door that said the place was close due to a private party from 2-9pm.

I walked in, got a few free beers and hot dogs that they had set up, turned around and was 5ft away from John Cusack, Chris Chelios, Ryan Dempster, and Randy Wells. One of Ozzie Guillens sons was there, I personally know him, and he introduced me to all of them. I was in shock. I walked around, looked at all the awesome silent auction items (Eddie Vedder autographed guitar, Kid Rock autographed guitar, tons of sports memorabilia (signed balls, jerseys, sticks), ticket giveaways, and VIP Meet and Greet packages for all sorts of Chicago area sporting events and concerts. It was very well run and organized. I even got outbid for an autographed ARod jersey by Ryan Dempster, millionaires making me look bad!! I thought $400 was a good price too.

There was a great vibe in the air, obviously due to the money being raised for a great cause. There was a band playing and they played a ton of Pearl Jam songs, but I did not see Eddie there at all. I did get there late so there is a chance I missed him, but I would expect if all of his Chicago buddies were there, that he would make an appearance. Not in the least disappointed at all.

I made sure to tip my bartender and waitress generously, as I was there uninvited (shh). The only reason I knew about the event was a co-worker's friend is a manager at the bar and tipped him off, who in turn (due to my Pearl Jam obsession in the office) told me and told me to keep my mouth shut.

I have a few great pics of the auctioned items and some really bad pics of the celebrities, I dont know how to embed them though. i'll happily post a few pics once I figure it out!

    I love private parties!!

I was at the party for about an hour, maybe Eddie was at the Glen Hansard/The Low concert at Millennium Park? Or maybe he was resting up, as he has a busy week in Chicago ahead of him 8-) I have a feeling he will be going out tonight, since he will be singing the 7th inning stretch on Thursday (1:20pm game) and he'll need to wake up relatively early.

You lucky dog! My husband and I went there around 9 PM (we didn't know about the "private party", we just like to go there for dinner sometimes), and we couldn't get in. I was like, "Hmmm...wonder what this is about..." then I figured it out. Glad one of us got in!

Well I guess those in attendance tonight should be prepared to sing Happy Birthday to JC!

Also, I've got a good feeling that Ben Harper will be guesting on a song (Indifference!) or two (can Red Mosquito be played acoustic?!) for Night 2! Ben starts his US tour in Chicago on Thursday, so I'm willing to bet he is/will be in town early! :o8-)
