    Especially if you assume he would have hit at least 7 homers to get him over 500 during the last 54 games baseball missed over the 94 strike and the first 20 games of 95.
    7 straight years of 30+ homers??
    10 seasons of over 30 homers??

    Played on those Atlanta teams(That couldnt win a World Series to save their lives....hehehehe) Good pitching beats good hitting??? Yeah right...Ask Maddux, Glavine and Smoltz what they think of that theory!!!! hehehehehehe

    Agree. I didn't see much of Bruce Sutter, but Lee Smith is purely a product of the stupid save rule. One of the most overrated players in baseball history.

    All my Phillies people remember Mariano Duncan's grand slam off the almighty Lee Smith on Mothers Day 1993. :D

    If you want to look at ridiculous HoF'ers, check out some of the guys elected in the olden days. The committees were really whacked back then. I think there was a Joe Posnanski article on it - I'll see if I can find it. Perhaps today's mostly high standards (like with Blylevin) are a backlash against this.
