A member of this board sold me my ticket which I am grateful. However, I was in line for 2 hours at the box office. Had I not bought my ticket I would have still gotten in as the folks in line around me were able to buy tickets directly from the box office. No show is ever truly Sold Out! Don't deal with scalpers, go directly to the source! You almost never will be shut out. And if this applies to a tiny venue in Manhattan, it will apply anywhere! Nonetheless, I'm still sorry to those who were screwed over.

What time were you in line? Do they usually sell the remaining tickets just before the show, or the day(s) before, or what? There were a bunch of people waiting in line but we were told no more tickets were going to be available.

I managed to get a single at the box office too--I got there around 4, they released tickets a little after 7. Don't know if it's just the Beacon or if it'll be the same deal for other venues on the tour.

question...how do you know when they've dropped tickets? do they say something? i mean if you are there at 1 or 2 when the box office opens (thinking philly now) and there are no tix...how will we know when there ARE tix? did they give you a clue?

We didn't know anything for sure until right after 7 when they said that some tickets have been released. I believe that the tickets released like this are ones that have been "cancelled," and I imagine that means that it's guests of the artist/promoter/sponsors who don't show up (and presumably notify people that they won't show up), so it's not going to be known for sure until the last minute. I just knew from being outside the Beacon the first night that a bunch of people were able to get in that way and that it was a good shot.

    Thanks!

I have 2 tickets but they are so far apart from each other...trying for a swap of at least one at the preparty. I think the box office is a good bet last minute. Thanks for the info :D

One last note from me on this: NEVER listen to a box office employee hours before a show. I was in line at the Spectrum and kept seeing people get told "no tickets would be released", they would wait an hour and then take off. I ended up being second in line and was pleased to receive 4th row tickets, side stage (Stone's side) with a perfect view. All it took was patience and the willingness to miss a couple of the opening bands songs. As much as I love Bad Religion, I don't love them enough to chalk up an additional $200 to a scalper to see their whole set.

Just to be clear, you had to get in line at the Beacon box office by 5 at the latest I'd say to get those last-minute tickets.

I got my PJ20 seats for night 2 on stubhub...
I got my "Just-in-case-they're-fake" lawn tix from live nation.

I'll be printing 2 sets of my reserved tix. If they are fake (and get confiscated), I can still get in to the venue with my legit GA tix and then use the backup printout of the fake tix to get to the reserved seats and see who is sitting there.

Kind of a hefty price tag though.

The problem here is that the person there won't be the scalper. They would never chance it.

True... I do remain hopeful though. Stubhub requires a credit card to be on file in order to sell tix. If i get screwed, then i will be reimbursed by them, and they go after the seller themselves to recover their losses.
The only thing that I'm not quite sure about is:
how do I let stubhub know that I was scammed AND how do I prove it? Couldn't anybody just say they were scammed and then get their money back.
There's probably no cell signal at AV, so calling would be useless.

Anyway, i've thought about all of this and decided to go with backup lawn tix. The travel/lodging/car-rental expenses are too much to end up being shut out completely.

In the very least having backup printouts of the fake tix COULD put me in those seats if they happen to be unoccupied when I get to them.

You'll be fine if you order from Livenation...absolutely no need to worry! The problem happens when you buy an e-ticket from a seller who has emailed the pdf to many people or from people who make fake pdf files.

  • You will be fine. Its extremely rare to get bad tickets from Stubhub. If you do, they almost always have a last minute point of sales set up near the venue where they can get you replacements. Buying on CL or on the streets is way more risky. I would say that Ebay is more risky too. Stubhub is the least risky option on the secondary market. Good idea to have a back up plan when traveling so far (alpine) though.

yes that was my friend, the woman who bought tix to surprise her husband for his birthday, only to find out that all 4 she purchased were FAKE. we had tried every avenue to get tix, I am a 10 club member and no luck with that or ticketmaster, stub hub or ebay...everything left was $600 and up so as a last resort we went to craiglist. BIG mistake! never again. I hope this person suffers the consquences! The usher told me there were at least 200 fakes last night!!!
    WTF

So are some of you suggesting that if I buy ticketfast from TM or LN someone else could buy a different ticketfast and edit the pdf to have different seat #s ( like mine) and sell them??? They'd have to change the barcode, but there are barcode fonts available.
Holy crap. I always try to be early, guess I better be first in line from now on.

There has been a lot of fake tickets around as of late. Even on Stub Hub so be careful everyone.

Were they all print at home tickets?

Hard tickets is the only way I would buy from Ebay or Stub and even thats pretty iffy
Thank you fellow 10 clubber for saving my ass....again!!!

In May I went to see Paul SImon - they verified everyone was an original purchaser by credit card match on the tickets. No tickets mailed in advance. This all could be ended so simply. Just too much $$ in it even for TM/LN and the venues themselves.

I did the same thing for nght 1. I hope my reserved seat tix is legit and hope there are some people there without any tickets because if my reserved tix is good, I plan on giving my 10C lawn tickets away to anyone there that needs tickets. If not, I guess I will use them to get in and out of the venue if I want to head to the parking lot to check it out or to go over to AV resort for cocktails.
    Be kind whenever possible.

No, mine and those of the folks I met outside the Beacon were NOT print at home. A guy arranged to meet us for the sale and we had hard tickets. We talked about it, it sounds like for at least some of us it was the same guy.

The guy who took our tickets at the door said he's seen at least 75 fakes that night, and he was one of five ticket-takers.

I had 10c tix for one of the shows but i use stub hub all the time and have never had a problem with fake e-tickets. I feel bad for the people who got ripped off but anyone buying a print out e-ticket from craigslist or wherever is just asking for trouble.
