Great show last night. I think I liked Providence slightly better, but thought both were great. EV got on stage about 5 minutes later then Providence. Show lengths were roughly the same.
Also cool briefly talking to Glen Hansard prior to the show. He was at Jacob Wirth with a friend. Didn't want to interupt so waited until they were leaving to briefly talk to him.
About what time did it end? Also how strict was it as far as taking pictures? Anyone able to sneak in a camera?
ushers killed the set list thread...maybe snap a pic when he first comes on, than leave your camera in your purse the rest of the night.
Did they confiscate cameras? I want to take a picture of the marquee and maybe sneak one in at the end if it's not disruptive but really I just want a pic of the marquee.
A really awesome show. Unthought Known was amazing. He got a long standing ovation for it, and then straight into Immortality. Great experience after a Bruins victory.
I'm spinning, oh, I'm spinning

^ The ushers threw a couple out of the show at one point last night. They were sat towards the back of the center orchestra. I don't know if it was for photos or taping, but there was a definite attempt to stop the snappers. There were signs everywhere saying not to do it. As noted above, take one good one, and put the camera away.
Highlight of the show for me was Unthought Known. First standing ovation of the night, and well deserved - he really nailed it.
If you're on the fence about making the effort to go to the show, don't be. Get your ass to it - you won't regret it.

The show ended about 10:25. As far as pictures, they were pretty strict in our section for just about all of the show. I was able to get some shots of Hard Sun (not great ones), but at that point half of the crowd had their phones out, so the 2-3 "guards" could not do anything.
the uke songs were unreal. speed of sound was incredible. unthought known and immortality? like, are you serious? i feel like these shows are very underrated if thats possible. they are very different than a pj show for me but equally or almost equally as enjoyable. the crowd was fantastic chanting lets go eddie before the final encore. the standing ovation after unthought known was completely organic and wonderful. his dialogue w the crowd is as good as his music. i cant wait for the beacon shows, philly, and then going to california in july. it was one of the best birthdays of my life and ive had a bunch now!!!! i feel so lucky to have had the chance to see this man perform. A plus.
INCREDIBLE!!!!!!!!!Possibly the best show I have ever been too!!!!And not to take away from Eddie but Glen unplugging his guitar and stepping away from the mike to sing was amazing. Thanks guys!
What a great show! This was my 5th EV solo show since 2008 and glad to see he's changing it up a bit. Not many covers at all. Uke songs taking their place.
I saw Teddy Bruschi there with his son and we had a nice chat before the show. I said great taste in music man. His response....."its Eddie Vedder baby!" with a huge smile. Cool dude. Looks great.
Loved the Bruins story too!

Really was a great show , with the exception of the wench bag sitting next to us. Probably won the tix and didn't even know who eddie vedder is and went out of obligation. UGH!!
anyway...the show was great I though a little better than Providence show...he looked a bit looser more relaxed...prolly cause he knew he didn't have to fight the Bruins for center stage
I went with Unlostdogs and she was a great Pearl Jam concert buddy for the past two nights. Thanks sooo much Trish you are so very Awesome.
One draw back came at the end of the night when the crowd was waiting to see Ed leave the building pretty sure a good couple hours and then he scooted out another back door into a van and drove off. kinda uncool
but a GREAT Show!!

From where I was sitting I think I saw her in action, did she grab security and force Unlost to sit down during Unthought Known?
Great time. Great show. Was hoping it would go closer to 11pm and with a few songs dedicated to the B's. I liked how he said the first couple of shows should have lower ticket prices! Haha. I was in row V of Orchestra. Thank you Ten Club. My wife, not a huge PJ fan said it was amazing and that Ed is very talented. She liked Glen as well. Popping the cork for the B's was a nice gesture. The ushers must have got an extra bonus for everyone they yelled at for turning on their cellphones. They were relentless. I mean, if a guy next to you checks the time on his phone twice during the whole night, no problem just let it go. And that's what I saw for most of the night, but I guess each section is different. Wished Ed had put on a B's shirt for the 1st encore. What's up with the doctors coats they wear during Hard Sun? I love Hard Sun and Arc very much. Good times.
What an AMAZING show last night. Thanks to the 10C for ridiculous seats (Orchestra left, row K).
Does anyone know what happened in the center orchestra seats, somewhere around row L or M? At one point I heard someone say something about kicking someone's ass, and then I saw ushers get involved. It was towards the end of the main set. Any idea what was going on??
Bright eyed kid: "Wow Typo Man, you're the best!"
Typo Man: "Thanks kidz, but remembir, stay in skool!"
for non bostonians, it's the zakim bridge, which is a bit of a landmark in boston i suppose (interesting choice!). i can see the bridge from my apartment, so i thought the poster was pretty neat. i was so surprised the posters were show-specific that i, like many, had an anxiety riddled wait in the merch line. but as stated - they had a ton! and were selling plenty after the show!
the show was amazing. it was my first non-10c seated EV show and i was a bit apprehensive -- but i have to say, the boston crowd was AMAZING (er, as opposed to the '08 tour!). we met some really neat people all night, from the bar beforehand to our rowmates - and some really hilarious (and tolerant of aforementioned hyperanxiety) girls in the merch line as well. thanks to them both for throwing elbows at incher-iners .
ed sounded great and was in really good spirits. while i loved the set front to back, it's worth reiterating: speed of sound was phenomenal. looking forward to hartford!

 yes she did :x After making me choke on her cloud of perfume all night long. (I didn't know they made Brut for women.)
I'm sorry, that was the BEST version I've ever heard of that song, which is my all-time favorite. And he just ROCKED it. It was physically impossible for me not to stand up for that song, how could anyone stay in their seat?!?
The security guard, who we had been talking with before Ed came on stage, was really apologetic about it. I said, "Sorry, it's just SUCH a great song." He agreed, and said "you're enjoying the show." (He was sitting right in front of Boo Boo and I.)
The whole evening was the was the best... meeting up with eveyone at the Beantown Pub was just outstanding. Then coming out of the back room of the pub to find 19 strapping young men wearing kilts and playing pool (what a great photo op that was, when a couple of them lifted me up in the air. Oh yeah).
Met Mrs. Youngster, a/k/a Crazy Mary. That girl has to come to more shows, she is the coolest! And a sidenote _ sitting directly, and I mean DIRECTLY behind me was Youngter himself! We couldn't believe it. I'm happy I survived the night without a noogie attack.
And every time I looked over to the right, I could see Poncier, looking like a man who was clearly enjoying himself very much!
BooBoo, you did a great job getting us seats in Row A, brother! Good on ya! What a BLAST we had two nights in a row! Thanks buddy!

That all went down two rows in front of me. There was a group of 4-8 guys who were kinda annoying throughout the show; yelling a lot of dumb stuff between songs and occasionally during the songs, including Arc. Apparently this dude got fed up and screamed what you heard right in the face of one of the guys wearing a Lucic shirt right before Society. So of course we had to listen to them yell at each other from their seats for most of the song. Then somebody from that dude's area (possibly him or someone he was with) got an usher to talk the guys. It really could've been handled a lot better.
So thanks annoying guys for being annoying and screamy dude for solving nothing and ruining most of Society for those around this minor fiasco.

In regards to the cameras, I think the right move is to respect Eddie's wishes and leave them in your pocket/in the car/at the house. It's a far more intimate experience and gentle show than most, especially considering what we're used to from the full band. It's distracting for both the performer and other audience members to be dealing with the flashes and electric glow in such a dark room. There's thousands of pictures of the man online...just sit back and take everything in.

I have the ultimate "ironic song placement" tale.
Paul McCartney in Foxborough many moons ago.
During "Let it Be" a couple seated a few rows behind me is having an argument, as the song gets quiet, you hear the dude yell "you're a f***ing C*** " at the top of his lungs. My young lady friend and many others were mortified.

Interesting that later in the show when Ed brought out a mandolin and the crowd chanted "Youuuuuuuuk" again, Eddie snapped back "You think this is a ukulele? It's a mandolin, you uncultured bastards."
There was literally the exact same exchange at the second Boston show 3 years ago. Word for word. I heard a couple people behind me groan last night when he said it, and we verified with each other that we weren't mis-remembering.
Still an amazing show, though. I'm not religious, but if I was it would be Eddie Vedder singing Arc live.

It was almost verbatim for sure. I dunno, I laughed again. Eddie is not one for canned responses. I am guessing he has said that a few times because it just fits perfectly.
