Great thread. I wouldve thought that my love for game 7's esp. the bruins would make me stay on the couch. but i learned from reading this thread that tix are still somehow available and even though i got royally screwed from 10c for both EV and PJ20 i was able to procure 2 tickets in the 3rd fn row (ya my third new 10c number is 409xxx) so im psyched.
also i got me a brandy new iphone so i will be kept uptodate with scoring anyways....8/29/00*5/2/03*7/2/03*7/3/03*7/11/03*9/28/04*5/24/06*6/28/08*5/15/10*5/17/10* 10/16/13*10/25/13* 4/28/16*4/28/16*8/5/16*8/7/16 EV 6/15/11 Brad 10/27/020 -
Gotta say, Im loving the fact that there are some hard core bruins fans in here, willing to eat the cost of their 10c tickets just to see the game 7. i was depressed all day that I had to work for game 7, im a massive nucks fan since '86. I got to work today and my boss allowed me switch my shift. YES. i would drop Ed or PJ in a heartbeat to see my team in a game 7, win or lose. I just would have to see that game.
Good luck to you Bruins fans. You can see Ed whenever, but when will you get back to the final?

You can go back and watch it 1,000 times if you want. It will still end the same way.Member 164xxx

Brings up an interesting point ... imagine if the show was in Vancouver tomorrow night?

Totally true. And no one would even question it.___________________________________________

If it was just EV touring only Canada instead of the US dates, it would be mostly Americans in that building and hardly anyone here cares about Hockey.
I mean if you count Nascar, then Hockey is 5th amongst major sports. One year the WNBA had better ratings than the Stanley Cup finals.Member 164xxx

Yea, and Ed's solo shows are so diverse.0 -
This is one of those 'to each their own' situations. Everyone places different levels of importance to a particular event than everyone else! I see what RM22 is saying about being able to watch the highlights and go to the parade, and that is something I would choose if say it was EV vs. the Bulls in the Championship game. But I'm much more passionate about the Packers (yeah yeah Chicago Packer backer) and wouldn't have missed that Superbowl game for ANYTHING. After watching about 15 hours of football games every week all season long, I was way too invested to miss that!WI '98, WI '99 (EV), WI '00, Chgo '00, MO '00, Champaign '03, Chgo '03, WI '03, IN '03, MI '04, Chgo '06:N1 & 2, WI '06, Chgo '07, Chgo '08 (EV:N1), Chgo '09:N1 & 2, Chgo '11 (EV:N1), WI '11:N1 & 2, Philly '12, Wrigley '13, Pitt '13, Buff '13, Detroit '14, MKE '14, Wrigley '16: N1 & N2, Seattle '18 N2, Wrigley '18: N1 & N2, Fenway '18 N1, STL '22, St Paul '23 N2, Chgo '23: N1 & N2, Wrigley '24 N1 & 20

Having attended Game 7 ten years ago of the Avs/Devils final, I'd NEVER miss a Game 7 again if/when the opportunity presents itself (if my team is involved). This could honestly be a once in a lifetime event. At the time I figured the Avs would have plenty of Game 7's left in my lifetime... Well, 10 years later and still waiting for that. Concerts will come and go, but you never have that assurance your team will ever get to a Game 7 for the Cup again."Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience." I'm skipping Eddie too. My brother has 10c tickets for Providence, I have 10c tickets for the Boston show the next night. I was going to go to both, but he bailed on Providence. I was torn but I won't be able to find anyone to go in a short period, plus I want to watch the Bruins, plus I'm going to Ed on Thursday.
Having gone to both Boston shows last time and Albany, I can miss one Ed show. I was extremely torn and still am but I made my decision. Those shows were unreal, if I didn't have Boston tix, I'd be going to Providence.0 -

8 year olds, dude.
Disclaimer - I barely follow the NHL (don't consider myself a fan of any particular team, either), and I root against Boston whenever possible...so I'm completely biased. If this was the Superbowl and my team (Vikings) who has never won one was playing in it, and I had EV tickets the next night as well, you bet your ass I'd be watching the game instead! Unfortunately, safe bet that I don't have to worry about that happening anytime...ever. Having an alternate show to go to would be a major part of this equation for me...'98: 8/22

Dude just go to the show. If they win you will have a friggin blast partying with everyone after the show. It won't make a bit of difference if you watched it or not. You will see the highlights for 30 straight days on TV anyway.
Not a dude, but yea I probably will end up at the show. If I could get a ticket to Boston or Hartford then I wouldn't go to PVD.0 -
This just made me realize how great sports are on the west coast. Since i've moved this way I've known it, especially with NFL...but if this show was out this way:
Head to a bar next door, game starts at 530, ends around 8...go into the show and not miss a beat.
Good luck to those looking to sell tix, and have fun to those going to the show.
And, of course- Go Bruins.0 -
I can imagine this is an insanely impossible situation for Bruins fans. But I think I pick my Flyers if they were in the same situation knowing how hard a Stanley Cup is to win. So it's not really that crazy at all to pick the Bruins. And even though they embarrassed my Flyers, I hope they do win, as Boston has some excellent fans that deserve it despite having won multiple championships over the last decade in the other sports. Hockey is different, more intense, I feel your pain.0

Eddie Vedder: "Ladies and gentleman, we have an update. (Pause). I've just been told (Pause---nervous laughter) that the Boston Bruins have just won the Stanley Cup."
Chaos erupts at PPAC.
Vedder goes from Dirty Water into Shipping Up To Boston.
Fans leave PPAC at 11:10 and run to the nearest bar. Bruins and PJ fans Unite!!!!! Drop the Leash!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bruins!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!0 -
I've loved PJ for 20 years, and I've loved Boston sports for more.... Some of the greatest celebrating I've ever experienced with family and friends was during championship runs. We've had quite a few in recent years. Born in 75, never seen the B's win it all.... not much of a hockey fan, easy choice.... gave my EV seats away today!!! Go Bruins!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! See ya in Boston EV." Jump from a cliff to fly, not to fall..."0

I personally think it's nuts that someone would dump EV for hockey, and I'm Canadian, but I've also never seen EV live, not a big hockey fan, and rarely get a chance to see PJ. See what that is? personal circumstances. everyone's is different, so why rag on someone for wanting to do either? doesn't make you a bigger music/sports fan for doing the opposite. jesus, mosquito22, stop razzing people around here.
