Are we saying something like ...
Joe Strummer and The Mescaleros - Streetcore
... can count? If so, I'll go with that.
"I don't believe in damn curses. Wake up the damn Bambino and have me face him. Maybe I'll drill him in the ass." --- Pedro Martinez
Into the Wild - EV
Euphoria Morning - Cornell
All good albums, but by the far the craziest wild most awesome solo album EVER by a front man
Gone to Earth - David Sylvian (featuring Robert Fripp and his freaky frippertronics! Really, if you're at all into some heavily alternate music, this album is phenomenal. But his more recent Snow Borne Sorrow is even better, but that's with a new band, Nine Horses)
I'd note Peter Murphy has been no slouch since leaving Bauhaus, I'd toss his "Deep" album into the mix.
Unfortunately, Robert Plant will never make this list, but there's some gems in there. Neil never really counted as a frontman did he? But there's a good argument for Harvest!
Matt- I'd say it counts cause it's a TP album. I really loved hearing the story and details behind how this record was made.
Tom Petty- Full moon fever

I agree and wish he did call it a solo album, it probably wouldn't get trashed as much as it was a great album. I saw it at Best Buy last week for a 1.99. Really sad but he is such a head case that I guess he kinda deserves it.
