I'd take the weekly payment, just so I would know that I have at least some income coming in every week for the rest of my life.

Hmmm I dunno...I think I'd take the lump sum, just because it would be my luck that I'd win, go with the weekly payments, and then have a piano fall on me the very next day lol besides you could still invest some of that money anyway.

I'd love to have this problem to deal with, that's all I know! :D

Im hoping i am due to have my luck change for the better already.

We have a yearly ticket, have had since weve married.....so almost 19 years! Haha. Surely were due by now? ;) I also pick up a couple tix/scratch offs the first of every month, since thats when i quit smoking almost 8 years ago. I know its not very likely, but we waste money on other stupid shit, and this gives me a little joy, so why not? As they say, you never know!

I'm going to derail one more time, for this I apologize... but I just couldn't help myself. I hope someone serves back on this reference.

Would you rather do it with Jack Nicholson or Molly Ringwald?

weekly...taxes on $1.9m lump sum would only leave me with about $1m, which I could make in about 7.69 years (give or take a few years) with the weekly payments.

You'd net $1,235,000 assuming Federal tax of 35%

Luckily there is no state tax in WA

As long as tax rates stay the same, you are better-off opting for the weekly payments as long as you plan on living 18 years or more.

I do plan on living at least another 50 years...I think I could make a nice chunk of change with weekly payments....even more if I put away half of it every week....or I could play another lottery, and win another $2500/week or $1.9m lump sum, invest that and live a fairly cushy life...again, hypothetically.
