Seriously....I was JUST going to post on the foodie thread about my sandwich. Still might.

I just finished.....turkey breast....provolone....wasabi mustard....on fantastic Levys Jewish rye, heavily seeded. Delicious!

Oh, and as far as my fave sandwich...italian hero. My gawd.
Followed closely by prosciutto, red pepper and fresh mozzarella with basil on panini bread.

However, my turkey sandwich is way healthier, the other two....rare indulgences. Damn bread and Italian cured meats.

I love the Italian sandwiches, especially with Salami and some capacola. But since capacola is so salty and fatty, I eat it maybe two or three times a year.

I love all the crazy new sandwich combos that delis and cafes have now. Always something new to try. But my all time fav's have to be:

    Italian Combo
    Chicken Parm
    Sausage with Peppers and Onion

Wow what a fantastic thread... the OP's sandwich just sounds awesome. I am a huge lover of the sandwich too, however i have to say my fave sandwich is the very simple, and perhaps slightly student days orientated, raw onion (not too thinly sliced) with mayonnaise, black pepper in good fresh brown bread. Yes!

There is no cured meat better than fresh prosciutto. NONE. Don't even try to tell me otherwise. :D
And sure, bit heavy on the sodium....but if only have a slice with roasted red peppers and mozzarella...plus some balsamic vinegar...it's not so bad. So I eat that often. Tho it's not a sandwich. Sorryi juggler.

That's a hell of a sandwich. When I'm making a sandwich I normally just go with some pastrami and Genoa salami, and improvise from there with different dressings, veggies, etc.

I love the New York Yankee from Jason's Deli. Hot corned beef and pastrami with Swiss cheese on Rye. I also enjoy a good Reuben or a French Dip.

French Dip always hits the spot, especially if it's from Cole's in downtown LA or Brennan and Carr's in Sheepshead Bay Brooklyn.
