usually people stand, but some still sit and some people, when they stand, JUST stand. with arms folded. like they're angry the band took their car without their permission and wrecked it. i can't wait till i have the funds for a Euro tourfoursymbols wrote:just wondering, when people talk about 10club seats for PJ gigs, do ye actually sit for whole concert?? Dont understand seats at rock n'roll gigs cos of this very reason!! Have folks telling people to sit down cos they cant see... Is it an American thing, do other big bands have seats in front of stage?? Been to hundreds of gigs, big & small, never sat thru them... Each to their own I suppose...'It's a sad and beautiful world' - Mark Linkous0 -

NORTH American thing.....and really, people stand, dance, sing.....seats just give a designated space and divide up rows. Sure certain gigs, such as jazz...people sit. Or, older rock bands, people site. But your average gig, people are up on their feet dancing. The only reason I like seats is the personal space and the fact that I don't have to queue all day. I have a blast either way tho.Stay with me...

Seats are nice for in between artists...especially for people with back issues...and at alpine you have a great view, don't have to worry about a taller person standing in front of you.08-19-08 (Riverside Theater) Vedder(Solo) Milwaukee, WI

I actually got kicked out of a Black Crowes concert for standing...really pissed me off, almost got arrested, don't understand how people can sit down during a concert? I'll sit down when I can't physically stand anymore.08-19-08 (Riverside Theater) Vedder(Solo) Milwaukee, WI

I love seats for at least these reasons:
1. Nobody crowds into your personal space, jamming their boobs/armpits/elbows into you.
2. You can sit down between acts and rest your weary bones.
3. Have to use the restroom or get a libation? Go for it. Nobody will be in your spot when you return!
4. Seats provide sensible spacing for people's heads so shorter folks can usually find a viewing angle.
I'm not saying you should sit down during the show, but the options available with a seated spot are valuable. Is it too much to ask for a full-blown Temple of the Dog set? Probably.0 -

No worries. I've never seen a show in Toronto, I'll be there too! But, yes, people will be standing, singing, dancing....I find Canuck crowds slightly more mellow than my east coast, US brethren, but then again...I was in western Canada, so who knows? Maybe eastern Canucks are just as wild as eastern US and Europe. Having seen shows in all 3 areas, I do have some opinions, haha.
It's gonna be a blast my friend, no matter what! Stay with me...
