People, let's use some common sense here. The lawn tickets cost less, so they will not be entitled to (the opportunity of) front row seats. It would be asinine to allow this.
    Why??
Who cares if they give lawn folks the same chance to sit up front??
    Who is it hurting?
It would kick someone in seats out.. if you put lawn people in seats then......... it takes people who have seats out.

Why are people not getting this?

    it's not brain surgery people.

No.. you are kicking people out.

EVERY seat under there should be for seated buyers.

Are you able to understand this? Why should someone who pay less win a lottery?

i have SEATED/GA ticket,i pay 334,but lottery must be for all.thats my opinion..
i dont care to have less chances,i care if someone wasnt unlucky with 10c sales to have a chance..

Because the lawn is a fun place to be at alpine, people can choose to have 1 night in lawn, and 1 in reserved, or both in the Lawn.

There is no seating arrangement in the lawn, but there is in reserved, so it only makes sense to include people who bought reserved seats to be included in the lottery.

    Plus, the price difference.

So you think 10C has seats set aside, meaning they will take in four rows worth less of money?

This is what I was thinking, too. If they didn't SELL the amount of seats they were giving in the lotto then no one would be losing out on a spot.

even i have less chances with ga/ga join the lottery

They are fencing off the lawn so people can get into position.

I will have to sit there for a night as well.

Oh and Dimi are you that much of a hoarder that you have to buy up a Seated/GA and let it go to waste and stay on the lawn?

If you bought lawn/lawn tickets, then your chances of receiving pavillion seats are ZERO. Zeeeeee-row point zeeeeee-row. This question is so ridiculous that I feel the need to 1-up it:

I bought tickets for 17 Lady GaGa's shows. Do I get 17 chances to win the lottery at PJ20?

That's nice of you. But I paid more, so I expect better seats than those that paid less. Some are fortunate in getting tix, and others aren't. Thats how all concerts work.
    understand,but wasnt a snormal sale was a mess. :)

I have RES/GA and i'd have no problem if i found out some GA won the lottery on my RES day ... good for them. Likewise, i hope my GA seats are eligible for lottery - however i would guess that only RES are eligible.

Regarding the $$ issue, i find it hard to belive that many 10C members will make the huge effort to get out to Alpine Valley (gas, beer, flight/hotel for some) and then skimp on tickets to save $40/person ... so in that respect I don't think the 'we paid more for RES' argument applies too much because most people only bought GA/GA when the RES/GA were sold out ... the extra $40/person wasn't for the lottery potential, it was for the guaranteed seniority-based pavillion seats anyway.

This is a good question - i would love to hear the answer.

I think only those people who snuck in purchases in the middle of the night should be eligible for lottery seats. That's no more ridiculous that what is being proposed here. Hehehe.

Discopij, Im with you. I am supportive of all involved having a chance to win the lotterg... RES/GA & GA/GA. These are 10C tix, and one of the priviledges (sp), if not the biggest, has always been a possibility of winning the lottery. I dont feel cheated if a GA night person won the lottery, just think if you were expecting to be GA on night 1 or 2 and you got to will call on day 1 and found out your ga had be 'slightly' upgraded to the front row. That would be a true lottery.

Anyway, for this why is it so crutial? I got Res/GA. I have already come to the understanding that I will be under the pavilion for one and outside for the other... but I am hoping all have a chance for the lottery both nights, that is the way it should be, because I know I lucked out to get Res/GA.

There were also people who could not get GA/GA tix. After they get their TM tickets, should 10C allow them to enter the 10C only area? They wanted GA/GA, but could not get it.

Things sell out. Then you get what you can.

Yeah, but that's life. People have been shut out of other shows..and this isn't the only ticket debacle this site has had. While I genuinely feel bad for people who were shut out and wouldn't mind it if everyone had a chance of the lottery it just doesn't make sense to me. Seats are a certain price -- Lawn is a certain price. If you buy lawn tickets how can you sit in seats? Also, assuming 10C sold it's complete allocation of reserved seats for each night, it would not be possible for Lawn people to win the lottery without bumping other people from their seats.

People bought tickets for a CONCERT not a LOTTERY. I think everyone who bought a concert ticket through 10C should be eligible for the lottery.

It's kinda amusing reading the "no way they're gonna do that" stuff that's floating around. 10C can do whatever the hell they want to do with the lottery tickets.

Your lawn seats are designated lawn because you don't have a reserved seat. If that were possible, you would move into the reserved seats and someone who had a reserved seat would be pushed into the lawn.

    Thats impossible

Unlikely - perhaps, but why do you say it's impossible... None of us actually have a reserved seat yet even if we purchased RES/GA since our 10C ticket order didn't have a seat number on it. The 10C can easily fill all the reserved rows first by randomly picking from all tix, GA included, and then just start filling in by seniority around that with all remaining RES tix pairs. Or maybe they would pick something like 2 or 3 random pairs out of GA and the rest random out of RES for the lottery.

I think it would actually be pretty cool for someone to think they were on the lawn but win the lottery. Personally, I'd wish them all the best for that opportunity actually and wouldn't care one bit that they bought a "cheaper" pair.

Would you still be upset if you found out that GA people winning the lottery would have to pay the difference?

I know this question was not directed towards me, but since I have had basically the same opinion as JS so far...

I honestly would not even care if a lawn person won the lottery. Hell, that could be me on the night that I did not get a reserved seat. But there are too many logistical problems with this and that is why I am almost certain that 10C will not do it.
