It seems like they are a block away from one another. Not being familiar with Newark, is there much difference in safety during daylight hours between these 2 blocks?

Not really from what I've seen and I work nearby.
There's also 27 Mix in that area for slightly upscale apps and drinks.

You know I think that McGoverns might close in the summer, it is big with the college kids from rutgers, so you might want to call before going. From my experience the streets at Kilkinney are just better lit at night and more populated, if I were to walk from the bar alone to the show, I would take Kilkinney over McGoverns.

It is a nice sit down place but...there will be a loud concert just outside the windows of it starting at 5:45pm that day.

There's another "nice" place within walking distance (about a block) called Don Pepe. That's the closest of the dozens of Portugese/Spanish restaurants that Newark is famous for.

Heh, I don't need a quiet place, it sounds fun and close. Just what I want!
Thank you fellow 10 clubber for saving my ass....again!!!
