Very good band, really excited for the new album.

Make sure you pick up the "Middle Brother" album if you don't have that yet (Taylor Goldsmith- Dawes, Matt Vazquez - Delta Spirit & John McCauley - Deer Tick).

I first discovered Delta Spirit (whom i love). I'm now on a Deer Tick kick and have a couple of their albums on order. Dawes is my last of the Middle Brother trio that I havent really explored yet, but certainly looking forward to.

I kind of found out about Dawes by accident. A couple years ago I went to this bday party at the Music Hall of Williamsburg in Brooklyn and Deer Tick and Dawes were both playing (along with the Antlers, Pela and Tokyo Police Club, pretty sick lineup). My buddy that I went with had told me Dawes was really good and I was really impressed with their set. Great album but I think they're even a better live band.

I'll be missing them by 1 day at Mountain Jam :( Only going on Saturday. But nevertheless excited for the festival, it will be my first festival!

But anyway, LOVE Dawes. North Hills is an amazing album. 'Love Is All I Am' is one of my favorite songs: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XeCQp--fUJg
Can't wait for the new album!

I've had the new album on repeat all day. So good. They need to forget all these opening gigs and have a full run of solo dates.
  • Yeah, they are seriously one of the best new bands around. The last album was a staple for over a year and now this new album already sounds like an old favorite and I've only listened to it a handful of times. I would love to see them live!

The new album is great, solid and worth the wait. Love the closer, "A Little Bit Of Everything". I was finally able to catch them live a few weeks ago but they were the opener so sorta a short set. They're coming back to Atlanta but still opening (Alison Krauss) and probably won't make that one or maybe I'll get cheap seats. They need to seriously headline!!!!!!!!

Thanks to this thread, I immediately purchased their two albums! Apparently Robbie Robertson is using them as his live backing band.

    How is Bright Eyes?

They're playing for free here his year so inevitably I will be there, but I'm just curious as to what I should expect.

Don't miss Bright Eyes. Easily the best show coming to SLC this summer. Easily.

New album is really really good. Seeing them in July here in Calgary. Small venue and tickets were cheap. So excited.

I find their music so inconsistent. I haven't been able to get into new album yet (though I've only listened to half).
Some of their songs are great, some have terrible lyrics. I saw them live in Houston and at OBH. They put on a good show both times. I talked to Tyler for a few minutes at OBH and he seemed like a really nice guy.
