  • i have one that's not signed and there is no way i'd trade it...Ed pulled it over Ted Leo's guitarists head and the guy wore it for RITFW...then when he took off his guitar the tambourine fell off his head and Ted Leo picked it up and threw it toward these chicks standing next to me and i intercepted that shit like an NFL CB!!! you can hear me shake the shit out of it on the boot!(6/30/08)

    man..i was in the zone that night!
    good work! chicks always get all the good shit... seducing the bouncers for setlists and showing their breasts to the band for tambourines... its disgraceful :p

    my coolect rare item is a sweaty matt cameron wristband with his initials and pearl jam sewn onto it... still smells like matt ;)

    I have this, but its not entirely rare, they show up on ebay every month or so...

    Your tambourine is fucking awesome though, how on earth did you get them both signed?

    Congrats dude, beautiful item

    thanks Paul. call me skeptical, but if PJ doormats are showing up on eBay at a rate of 1 per month i've gotta believe someone is pumping out some fake mats,...

    as for the tamborines,...my brother and i sat front row centre at the Grand Rapids '06 concert. eV tossed me the 1st tamborine, the slightly smashed one, which i instinctively handed over to my brother. while i was watching Mike rock a solo during the next song, my brother and eV made eye contact and eV noticed that my brother, and not i, was holding the tamborine,...so eV mouthed to my brother "are you here together?" and my brother gave eV a thumbs-up! i was still watching Mike over on the other side of the stage during his solo when i suddenly felt a presence over us, so i looked up and saw eV standing over us at the edge of the stage with another tamborine in his hand. i remember thinking to myself "i already got 1 tamborine, why is eV giving me another one?" at which point my brother eagerly turned and handed the 1st tamborine back to me and proceeded to catch the 2nd new tamborine from eV. after he tossed the 2nd tamborine to my brother, eV turned around and took one step forward before turning around again and motioning for my brother to throw his tamborine back up, which my brother did with a great toss up. eV caught the tamborine and used it to wipe the sweat off his entire face before throwing it right back to my brother for the final time,...

    both tamborines were signed by eV just prior to the "Body of War" premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in September '07. you can see the tamborines in the picture i linked in my earlier post - mine was signed "For Eric" and my brother's was signed "To Hagai",...

  • A tambo is only cool if you were actually picked out of the crowd by Ed and subsequently thrown it by Ed.
    {if (work != 0) {
    work = work + 1;
    sleep = sleep - work * 10;}
    else if (work >= 0) {
    reality.equals(false);
    work = work +1;
    }system("pause");
    return 0;}

    agreed... buying someone elses tambourine is like people that pay for autographs... the fun of an autograph is getting to meet that person... same goes for the tambo

    I got lucky and got a tambo thrown to me by eV at San Fran 06 night 1.
    A few months later someone put together a DVD of the show and you can see the moment perfectly. I'm a lucky kid :D

    That is a great great story, a things of most of our dreams....you are so so lucky...I would be so proud of that thing.....

    You know its probably worthless on the open market because its signed to you, but to me that makes the item worth an invaluable amount to you......Its one of things you will never ever even think of selling.

    This is why i am very prepared to have my reeenk roink signed to Paul if I ever am fortunate enough to meet Ed or any of the band for that matter. Sure it might ruin a good 2k's worth of CD but to me it will enhance the value greatly.

    As for the doormatt, I was exaggerating a little, but there have been quite a few on there over the last year. And quite a few traded on the collectors sites. I love the one I got, its a really cool item,, but its nothing next to one of your tambourines

    seeing as i shook Ed's hand that night and had him place a pick in my hand awhile later....i was content to catch the tambourine from Ted..Ed was the one who smashed the hole through it before hand.

    Its pretty much the same thing, you get my drift, you didnt buy the tambo off a pit member or ebay.

    thanks buddy. prior to having the tamborines signed, let alone obtaining the tamborines, i had met eV several times beforehand and never bothered asking for a signature because i quite honestly never had anything substantial worth bothering eV to get signed,...by substantial i mean something better than a blank and/or torn piece of paper. i was more than content with the guitar pics eV has handed me over the years, but when i had the opportunity to get the tamborines signed i couldn't resist because the tamborine is unique to eV.

    i have to say, though, i don't think the tamborines would be worth paying more than $10 for,...quite honestly, as was already mentioned in this thread by EquallyWorthless, if eV hadn't offered the tamborine to me (directly or indirectly) i wouldn't have felt as good about receiving it (as opposed to trading for/buying a tamborine). after i posted about our experience shortly after the '06 Grand Rapids concert an autograph collector offered us $200 for each of the tamborines via PM. i thought he was wasting his money,...

    $200??? What an absolute fucking insult IMO! :)

    Sad as it sounds, I wouldn't even trade my tambo for a night with Ed :o . It represents the best moment of the greatest night of my life... why the hell would ANYONE trade that? :confused:
