    Looks amazing!

It would be good to see the 9 colour print next to the standard print to see the difference!

I have both and there is a significant difference. I had framed the 1st edition after the show, but now the framer is replacing the AP into the frame. I will post pictures of both next week when I get it back so you can see the difference.

Differences include: two different color black backgrounds vs one in the 1st edition. The metatron (?) at the bottom of the funnel is very different. The upper funnel is much brighter, as is the whole poster.

As soon as someone posts a picture of the AP next to the 1st edition, the differences will be very noticeable.

You know I was thinking about buying the AP because I knew it would look sharper but the fact of the matter is the 1st edition means more to me because I actually got it at the show so I decided against being a part of the herd and just buying the AP for the sake of buying it because it is sharper but I can tell you that I definitely can see the differences and it does look a lot better, but I don't know once the consumer in me calmed down and I said I really don't need it and I don't think it would mean much to me, I was glad I resisted that urge to buy the AP.

You know I may or may not but the fact of the matter is that it will never have the same meaning to me. That was the show my poster wristband broke so buddy told me to put it in my pocket and come back to him after the show.

nice! i remembered somebody's broke their wrist band but wasn't able to pick up a poster later that night. it was weird. the guy had the wristband. but the guy at this one table didn't give him one, so he went to the other tables. i remembered sandra & i went to 2 tables when we went into the centre, and they were all sold out of hartford posters. we ran like crazy to the last one up the hill to the left and was able to score one.

  • I'm lost...when did they reprint this poster? And why did they change it? I'm new to this big poster craze so you''ll have to excuse me.

Below is an excerpt from an email that Brad Klausen (the artist) sent out. It sounds like they didn't print more, but he added some paint to the existing ones to make them look more like he intended. They sure are pretty, and almost enough to make me want to start collecting posters for shows I didn't attend.

    Melissa

    from Brad:

    …The Hartford Poster…

At the top of the poster are the 5 platonic solids…they are all supposed to go through and come together to form a metatron’s cube at the bottom, it sort of the crux of the concept…. originally this poster was going to be printed on white paper, unfortunately due to some unforseen trapping issues, a last minute audible had to be called and it was switched over to black paper. Because of this, the colors didn’t overprint the way they should have on white paper for the metatron’s cube. For my copies sold on Artillery, there will be additional color(s) added to the poster to fix that overprinting problem.

If your curious at all, google the platonic solids and metatron’s cube…it’s all really interesting stuff based on sacred geometry and how everything in the universe is made….it’ll cook your noodle.

I'm not sure that these prints are AP's...

I got a Kenyon and Hartford and was a little disappointed that there was no "AP" signed where the signature and number are...

I mentioned that I thought it (Kenyon) was an AP at the framers and the dude said that it would have an "AP" in the corner as well if it truly was an AP...

So what's the story? Are these prints sold in the BK sale AP's???

In the Pearl Jam poster universe, AP = artist proof = signed/numbered. Same thing.

I had the honor of hanging pre-show with the D-man "God of all boots".. I have been going to PJ shows since 1994 and that hartford show's band performance was epic!

It was almost surreal walking up the hill after the show past the downed chain link fences with the rest of the crowd..never thinking this would be a replay of the famous 1996 "mace / tear gas" incident.. but I got up to the street level and suddenly my lungs were burning! People coughing and gaging all around me..

what in God's name is wrong with a police department who readily unleashes toxic gas at a Pearl jam show..??

Are you sure about that brotha?

I am by no means new to the poster world, just surprised, I guess...

    Well, I have abunch of AP's I guess then : )

Why would this be unique to PJ posters (Ames, Kalusen)?

I could have sworn that I had seen several Ames prints with an "AP" next to the signature and num...

    Weird

**!!**Because AP's are only 10-15% of the show edition, making them harder to come by. 1000 show editions = 100 AP's. (usually)**!!**

Yes,pretty sure. I know things usually works out a bit different with different artists. Here, the show editons are not signed or numbered, they are blank. So the posters that the artists sell (S/N) are referred to as the ap run. Might not be 100% accurate, but there is no AP of the S/N. Thats why the S/N is referred to as AP.

The AP's you have seen on some ames prints have most likely been AP seconds. In 2003, ames sold two seperate AP runs. The second AP run were prints they got back from the shows. They decided to sell them and therefore labelled them 'AP2' to not confuse them with the original run.
