Doing some research now, whats the max people would want to shell out for bus and/or limo service to get us there and back each night? Also, what type of head-count are we looking at to select the appropriate ride?

I stayed here in 2003, FIRST PJ SHOW! Man that was a good show.

Anyways, this place if awesome. nice pool, the rooms that have a suite are well-designed for in room festivities (kitchen for food & beer). It is also close to both the venue the lake. I'm planning on staying here again this year.

I was at that show too and it was freeeeeezing outside!

4 of us from Chicago are staying here as well. We're definitely interested in roundtrip transportation to the show.

plus 4 for the shuttle. what kind of prices would we be looking at?

plus 6 for consideration on shuttle. maybe 2 or 3 more?
would prefer not to leave for show too early since it will be nice to enjoy the lake for a little in the morning/early afternoon.
Just throwing that out there. :D

if we got a large bus (which it sounds like could be filled) would the bus stay at the venue for tailgating or just drop off pick up? Thanks.

Will also have a rental car or two in my group but would prefer to put the keys away for the shows if ya feel me. 8-)

So since this is turning into a large crowd I sent a few emails about getting a bus of some sort. Ideally I'm thinking we leave for the venue early afternoon (2-3?) both days. It looks like it will be cheaper to have it drop us off and pick us up later, but the pickup seems like a bit of a logistical nightmare. PM me if you're definitely in for this, already going to assume:

When I was looking into the Cove @ Geneva I spoke to an employee regarding transportation. He said their concierge may be able to arrange it for us.
I left a message last week, but haven't heard back. If anyone is able to call during the day and ask for the Concierge....perhaps she could make the arrangements for us...and just may have an idea or two about the pick-up issue at Alpine..

I'll post if I hear back from her.

looks like we have a minimum of 20 and probably about 30 or so when the dust settles in the coming week or two. If we could get a bus to take us to the venue at 2 or 3pm each day and then pick us up at say, 12am with a "wheels up" at 12:30 or so, we would be golden. pick up time at end of show would be tricky so that would be the hard part...

I can't imagine that there wouldn't be people stoked to do this for $600 a day or so. With only 20 people that's only $30 round trip per day and that would be a fair price IMO. I would love it if this could be arranged. I would think that for that kind of scratch, mom and pop rental companies in Madison or Milwaukee would even be worth looking into.

I spoke to the concierge, before this thread started, and she gave me a number of a cab company that woudl take my party of 4 to and from for much less than the bus. I thought "sweet - I'm getting in on this", so I called the cab co and spoke to a lady who said oh yeah - we can do that, call back next week when the owner is back in town. I called today and he said "sorry we don't go to Alpine Valley any more, to many problems" and that was it. So if the concierge says call "Senior Cab" - don't bother.

Looking forward to the bus details!

do not forget about the coupon mentioned in this thread. it is good for 20% off if presented upon arrival and mentioned when booking. The rooms are a steal imo with this factored in.

I am also interested in the bus as I am staying at the Cove. There are four of us. I still have to call Hemingways as they have done shuttles in the past for Jimmy Buffet concerts.

  • You guys are gonna love this. Bus that seats 40 is right around $720 (including us paying $100 for parking). They allow smoking and drinking on the bus but no kegs or glass. by smoking, I doubt they mean 420 friendly in case any of you shady buggers were wondering. Has to be paid with cc or money order a week before hand so that may get tricky, but i may be able to cover one night if someone else could take the other.

    Whats the verdict peoples?
