Let me know what I can do to help. I still have leftover boxes to collect stuff in, I can bring those. I'm sure I'll have some raffle donations too.
Also bringing the poster tube that I ended up with.
IF anyone wants to help out with items, we always need empty poster tubes!

If anyone has a hook-up for a hotel room somewhere around Alpine please PM me. There's 6 of us who can't find a room anywhere for an affordable price. I will gladly give you my expo passes if you can help me out. Thanks!
There are a few of us accepting donations, don't want to bog any one person down to transport a bunch of stuff. Laura, Ms. Wes C Addle, and I will too.
Can't wait! I'm bringing 5-6 big boxes to collect food in.

I'm curious. Bieng a non profit, how do we as the ones who donate and are putting the money out for these things know that 100% of the money raised goes to said organizations. I donated to the Detroit ev one and plan on this one too. But been reading about organizations not bieng truthful and organizers skimming off top.
For instance all the scum bags for the Katrina hurricane.
Just a simple question, if taken the wrong way I guess I could apologize.
Just, not enough.
I need more.
Nothing seems to satisfy.
I said, I dont want it.
I just need it.
To breathe, to feel, to know Im alive.
Wow.
As an organizer of a bunch of Wishlist fundraisers I can pretty much tell you that no one is skimming money. Not to come across as a bitch, but as a fundraiser, I kind of take offense to that statement.
EVERY $ raised GOES to the chosen charity. The only $ that isn't, is half of the Wishlist tee shirt $ to cover the costs of making the tees.
I had to say more because this really has me upset.
We as organizers spend a lot of our own $. Raffle tickets, poster tubes, poster boards to make signs, name tags, markers. Also our travel $. We use a lot of printer paper, ink to print a bunch of stuff we need. This all comes out of our own pockets!

Hey Jamie,
Definitely a valid question, especially when there are unfortunate instances of dishonesty out there. It's good to remind everyone of what Wishlist is about too.
You can feel secure that any pre-party, online auction or event promoted by the Wishlist Foundation is a 100% valid fundraising situation. Early on we knew we had to make sure everyone's donations are safe and secure since you are all trusting us with your hard-earned money. Wishlist Foundation is a federally recognized 501(c)(3) organization. Our tax ID number is 20-5497732 and we run everything through our business bank account. We hold both directors insurance and liability insurance too, just as any other business and nonprofit would. As a federal recognized nonprofit, we have the ability to provide tax receipts and have to disclose all of our accounting. All of our information is at http://wishlistfoundation.org
We are a 100% volunteer organization and I guarantee you that none of us is taking any money off the top, bottom or anywhere in between Other than the production cost of the items we create and event expenses, we donate all proceeds to beneficiaries we support. We do this out of love, and we certainly have no intention of screwing over our friends.
There are lots of fans out there who host their own private fundraisers. We believe that 99% of them are genuine and honest - but you should always be careful when donating to a person or organization that isn't registered. It's that whole "buyer beware / donor beware" situation.
Unfortunately there are a few people out there who would take advantage of how giving our community is and withhold information or even money. That can be said of any community, business, place, or time. I would think twice about donating to any organization that is afraid to disclose their business practices or structure.
If you have any questions about the validity of a specific fundraiser or if it's 'Wishlist approved', feel free to email us at info (at) wishlistfoundation.org

I couldn't have said it better!! That Detroit party raised money and EVERY $ (minus 10$/shirt) went to the Michigan Humane Society. I can give you their phone number and you can call them to confirm it.

Well take it how you will. I donated to the detroit fundraier. And I'm donating to the pj20 one. This is a forum of where we can speak freely. Correct? So if I come off sounding like an ass than I'm sorry. But I feel I have the right to know that money I'm spending, and donations of my pj memorabilia are going to the proper places. Easy as that IMO. And I was polite in the way I asked. And Laura said it herself, you should ask when giving hard earned money and whatever else to charity. So no need to get upset.

I'm very proud of the Wishlist for throwing the pre- party in Lake Geneva. Excellent choice! More bars, scenery and booze to conquer including beer brats! Please utilize the shuttle services especially up and down the tiny strip in geneva since the cops are surely plentiful for giving sobriety tests!
PJTEXAS is RSVP-ing for Friday night +1. I also have a couple of items to donate to the auction. I will take them with me and turn them in when I get there. Thanks!!!
