haha! that's classic. You were right near a few friends of mine, Gibbo, just above you and a few others in front and to the left of him

I had just about the same spot you did last week in Philly

Loved the show, it rained for most of the show so Bono threw in lots of snippets of songs about Rain, he sang parts of Purple Rain twice. They dedicated Stuck in a Moment to Amy Winehouse, did a full band version of Stand By me where they brought out some Somalian rapper that Bono had met that day. All and all a great show. Here's a clip of Sunday Bloody Sunday so you can see how hard it was raining at times-

I am getting majorly psyched for Saturday's show in Moncton! I hope they play all night and pull out some surprises; last show of this long and record breaking tour; playing a place they've never even come near before; Arcade Fire opening; beautiful natural sloping field/amphitheatre with stands built to make it like a 360 stadium; and hopes of 100,000 people attending!

what an amazing show!!!!!!!!!!!! This time for GA, we waited until after 6pm to go in, went all the way to the back of the stage, watched the band come in, then went to the side, behind the red zone area on Adam's side and watched the show from there. We had plenty of room, and a rail to hang onto, it was perfect. Had two of my sons with us, we had a great time! Check out the last song they played!

Here are a few pictures from Pittsburgh:

outside the stadium, band arrived with a police escort, then Bono and Edge came out, shook hands and signed a few things:

    100_1596.jpg

We had GA tickets and when we went in our friend suggested we go all the way to the back, behind the stage to see the band come on. This is a picture my son took, I made a cool video, but not sure how to get that on here:

After they came on stage we went around the side, on the rail behind the Red Zone area on Adam's side. I was surprised they let us stay there, it was a perfect spot!:

    100_1632.jpg

During City of Blinding Lights, Bono pulled up a boy from the crowd (my youngest son was jealous):

    100_1656.jpg

    100_1665.jpg

For With Or Without You, Bono pulled a couple that had been to 60 shows, they danced during the song:

After the show, it was amazing how fast they started tearing down. It looked like an army of ants scrambling all over:

It won't sell out, as they plan to cap it at 100K; you should definitely come up, great spot, forecast calling for a little rain though.

Pretty excited for the show tomorrow; except for the fact that I have an Ultimate Frisbee Keg Party tonight; gonna be a rough weekend.

    Started with Zoo TV.

Here's a cut and paste from a Google message group from 2009.

Yeah, most fans are a bit mystified why they still insist on keeping the
"help" offstage when it's a poorly kept secret to even the most casual
    listener at their shows.

It's really no mystery U2 has been using live "help" off stage since the
ZooTV tour in '92. In fact, their drum tech played "backing drums" offstage
during "Desire" on the '89 Lovetown tour and can be seen behind The Edge's
amps playing in some bootleg videos from that tour. And going even further
back, they've used pre-recorded backing tapes since the Unforgettable Fire
    tour in '84.

There was a notorious article in Spin Magazine (I think) during the first
leg of the ZooTV tour where the author (who I think had a relationship with
someone in support band The Pixies) kind of blew the cover on this when he
described The Edge's guitar tech Dallas Shoo playing some keyboards in The
Edges' guitar "pit" as well as triggering some of The Edge's guitar effects
peddles. Since then, they've also used a dedicated offstage keyboard
player/programmer, and I think that person at least for the last couple
tours has been Terry Lawless. There's a ton of videos on YouTube that
illustrate how vital Dallas is to The Edge including this one:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nkg_H2wM ... re=related

And U2 isn't the only major band hiding the "help." For instance, Van Halen
has been using a offstage keyboard player since 1991.
