I was as excited as any other Tiger fan by the signing of Fielder...but after further thought what kind of organization decides 3 months after the season that we have 25 million to spend. That was a panic move. A well run organization would have got together (Owner, GM, Manager, etc.) and figured out the budget and tried to correct the deficiencies early on in free agency...not in February with 1 huge move that will not bring them a championship.
I said after last years playoffs they needed to fix the 3-4 spot in the rotation, deeper bullpen and consistent lead off hitter, more speed and better defense. This team has no speed, the 3-4 spot is still very iffy, the bullpen appears weaker than last year, the defense is horrible...but Jackson appears improved and so far providing consistency.
I still think they can win the division and be in the playoffs...but I doubt much after that.
I just really hope the signing of Feilder hasn't left this team financially screwed and unable to keep Verlander...
