I enjoyed the movie.  Spoiler free thoughts ....

    * Adam Driver was an odd choice for Kylo Ren (which is an odd character), mainly because he is an odd person in real life (so perhaps he was perfectly cast), but his acting chops are several leagues above the rest of the cast.

    * The first 15 minutes of the movie was a hyperspeed plot setup for the rest of the movie since The Last Jedi spent several hours doing nothing.

    * Kinda was hoping that Rose would end up in the Sarlacc Pit (spoiler: she doesn't)

    * It was a fun visceral last movie that I thought did a decent job wrapping everything up.  The movie is mainly an action movie.  It follows a Disney Marvel footprint which obviously the public enjoys, but don't expect any deep plot conversations.  People can crap on Lucas all they want, but at his heart I think he is a storyteller.

    * Oh, and I can't believe that Jar Jar Binks ended up [SPOILER]!
How is Adam odd in real life?

Jeremy Jahns is great. I don't agree with him about this film but he's very good at the YouTube racket.

Why did Leia stop her Jedi training again?
    I didn't quite capture it.

He only eats pancakes if they have square edges and only on Tuesday on the odd week of an even month (pending it isn’t a leap year).

Pretty much, IMO, Star Wars fans fucked this trilogy up.
The Force Awakens: It's exactly the same story as A New Hope, where are the new ideas?
The Last Jedi: We don't like these new ideas and this new direction, it's not what Star Wars films are
The Rise of Skywalker: It doesn't make sense now

Disney should have shown more balls and have written the trilogy they wanted not what fans wanted.
This is the problem with social media it is causing so much problems in the world, too much extreme division and polarisation.
Sad that this trilogy as a whole was a wasted opportunity we will never get back.

Social media is definitely a large factor in what's wrong with the fandom. However not having any real plan for this trilogy is what doomed it from the start. JJ started one story, Rian told another one. That falls ultimately on Lucasfilm and Kathleen Kennedy.

Also, I don't think the Skywalker saga needed concluding. If you wanted to continue it, fine, but it pretty much ended already on Endor. To insist that it needed a conclusion and that you were going to provide that conclusion without having an idea of what that conclusion was going to be was basically malpractice.

saw an 8:30 show this morning. It was a big theater but only like 1/4 full (if that) which was kinda odd but i'm glad there wasn't too many people there. Overall I enjoyed it a lot actually. It was very emotional for me. I teared up quite a few times.

Thats not really what happened though.  They werent reacting to fans for each film.

They should have created some strange pass-the-baton story with different writers and directors.  It was disjointed.  You could tell that Abrams crammed the first half-hour into transitioning from whatever the hell The Last Jedi was into his vision for the 3rd movie.

The problem was disjointed and incoherent story-telling.  The Last Jedi was by far the worst and it stunted this trilogy.  I would have loved to see Abrams' entire vision/story for the trilogy

Same here. I absolutely loved it.  I might go: 9, 7 and then 8.

Glad I wasn't the only one that teared up. I was the last to leave the theatre as I wanted to recompose myself and dry my eyes. The last scene got to me.

Did anyone see it in 3D?  I didn't know 3D was still a thing.
