Did you guys notice in the pictures of the helicopter the tail? That looked very different and stealth like.

You know bro, I'm not doubting that they killed him. I'm purely speaking from the side of Freedom, democracy and truth. :D

Release the Video of the killing, and the Photos. We should ask for nothing less than all the info. Nothing less than the Truth.

Don't worry that people will think this is fake or that is fake, no excuses. Just give us the truth.

Agreed. If we let this go without getting any proof, how does look for the future for feeding Americans news? Not good; it will open the field up to even more news that most likely isn't truthful.

+1 but I do see Obama's point of no need to "Spike the football".

Islam takes great care and respect over it's dead and by showing these photos it would generate fury and sadness to those who follow that path. It's not about respect for him, but for their customs. I think that takes president over anybodys curiosity or any conspiracy theories.

If people don't believe he is dead then the photos won't make much difference, they will still be skeptical and be responsive to what ever theories get circulated.

Wouldn't be suprised if they are 'released' in a few years once everything has calmed down.

i looked up the Tupac death photo once a long time ago, kind of haunts me, wish i hadn't scene it. I have no want to see this.

I worry, especially, about all the children who will inevitably see it. It's like people think this is some kind of video game or something. Real death is not all fun & games. Experiencing it, especially when it's gruesome, even in photos, is not benign. What kind of nation are we becoming when these kinds of images - regardless of who they are of - are something we delight in, instead of being disturbed? If we start passing such images around for children to celebrate, what worse images will be passed around by the time they grow up?

Also, I'm reminded of the photographs of Emmett Till. Does everyone remember his gruesome photos and, more importantly, why they were released? They were released to incite outrage in otherwise complacent people. And it worked. I heard some politician on the radio this morning saying we should release the bin Laden photos because the 'enemy' already hates us, so we couldn't possibly get any less safe. And yet our own history shows that such photos awaken & outrage even those people who weren't previously engaged in the fight.

Well said. We would be offending the Muslim people as a whole, not just the bin Laden supporters.

So respect for Muslims trumps proof that OBL is dead? We need proof. We need truth. We need something to verify that this is the real deal. Otherwise it's all just hearsay.

So where is Bin Laden then if he isn't dead? Having Tea with Elvis?

I don't trust any Government to tell the complete truth but plausible reasons for why his death is a lie are pretty short on supply. If you don't believe he is dead now then I'm not sure how a photo will change your mind since it's easy these days to make convincing forgeries. Like I said, they will be 'leaked' in due time but for now I think it is sensible to just let the hysteria die down.

Can't watch it chuck, i'm in the UK. Why restrict stuff like this? Surely it's more promotion for their show etc

Dunno about the J.F.K thing. Still feels like the conspiracy thing is embedded now in popular culture.

When so many people doubted bin Laden was still alive ("Has anyone actually seen him?" "Has he released any videos recently?") I think it's amusing that there are people who don't believe that he's dead.

When we fired missiles at his camp in the 90s and missed him, he wasted no time in getting to the airwaves and announcing that he'd survived. Don't think he'd do the same thing now? Al Qaeda has pronounced him a martyr. Sounds like he's dead to me.

Of course, the inevitable death photo has been leaked: :P

Very good point. He would've had a video out by now saying they didn't get him.

    Yes.

Like I already mentioned "A photo will end the speculation..." And until proof is given, the debate will continue...

No it won't end the speculation. Some people hold on to their beliefs no matter how much proof is given to the contrary.

And if a photo comes out, people will say it's fake.

You people can be really contradictive.

One one hand, there are the bunch who believe he's dead, because they want to believe it and they believe the media/govt. Then the same bunch are saying that a photo wont prove anything. Talk about negative thinking... You're all making this skeptic look like an optimist! Perhaps, I am. :?

It's not that much of a contradiction. The same people who believe Osama Bin Laden is dead are also saying that if a photo is released, it won't convince some of the people who don't believe he is dead.

23% of the country swore Obama was born in Kenya, and all we heard was, "If he releases his birth certificate it will solve all of this!" So the birth certificate was released, and the response was, "It could still be a fake - it might be photoshopped!"

There is video footage of men walking on the moon... and there are still people who don't believe it happened.

Releasing photos of Osama Bin Laden will never satisfy all of the people who say he's still alive. There will still be people who think the photos are a fake.
And I listen for the voice inside my head... nothing. I'll do this one myself.
