Beavis: All my friends are brown and red? What does that mean?
Butthead: It means that his friends are like turds and that they like suck.
Beavis: Heh heh. Oh yeah. Yeah! Get those spoons out of my face before I shove them up your butt!
    Butthead: Huh huh.

I freaking love this song. It's been on my playlist since before the album came out!

We Used to Wait is another favorite of mine from that album. I love the way this song builds..

Have you heard the other albums yet? My favorites from Funeral are: every song LOL, but I think the most popular ones are: Rebellion (Lies), Neigborhood #1 (Tunnels), Neigborhood #2 (Leika), Wake Up. I would recommend just listening to the entire album though. ;)

My mate just called me a hipster for listening to Arcade Fire.
    WTF is that?
Is this some new scene I am not aware of?

I adored neon bible but am lost by the suburbs, I really want to like it, really badly, but its just bland and boring...and very samey....even touching on abba at times.

Im gonna give it more time, but cant say im blown away by this one as much as the vast majority of the public are

I felt the same as you do when I first heard The Suburbs...especially the comment about it being "samey." There were songs that I liked almonst instantly though like Rococo, Modern Man, City, Empty Room, the Half Lights, the Sprawls. The others took some time and now I really love the entire album. What helped was that I started hearing new things after each listen and realized there was a lot happening on the songs I originally considered kind've dull. I'm also a big Neon Bible fan so thought that maybe you feel the way I used to.

Hope the album hits you eventually, but if not, there's always their past and future albums :)

a good friend told me exactly the same thing yesterday. He had the same experience and now considers it a classic. He even made the comparison to the work he invested in understanding vitalogy all those years ago and how that has paid off big time.

That was the kick up the arse i needed to get back to this and look a little deeper.

He also said once you research the concept of the suburban sprawl and how everything is bland and the same you appreciate the record more.

Month of May doesn't do it for me, maybe a few more listens.
Only song I do not love thus far.
