Saw today on the news they got violent during a protest outside a local detention center for illegal immigrants, a Greens MP was speaking to her followers stating that Australia is a big country that we should let them all in to stay.
Hang on...
Traffic gridlock on our roads
Overcrowding in trains and trams
Not enough houses
Price of living
And they want to make it worse by increasing our population?
Bunch of lunatics that is all I have to say.
australias population - 22,594,277 people
united kingdom population - 66,113,205
have a look at the size of both countries, and then tell me we dont have the room.
thats the reality mate, I just dont live on a island I live on a planet, a planet filled with people,
Its ok for your money to go where ever you want to spend it, but people should not??
foreiners form gangs, yes
so do white boys as well, the motercycle gangs are largely filled with white guys arnt they. and these people are responsable for a lot of crime .
Those that are protesting recently about their treatment at the centres should be sent home straight away, see how they like fending for themselves in camps on the borders of the countries they fled. but boat people have as much right to be here as I have.
maybe the aboriginals 200 years ago should have had the right to decide how people should come , then maybe we wouldnt be here either.
also what about the baby bonus, if we have too many people why are we paying for more
Okay we will make cities in the hot dry desert for the refugees.
UK can take in more because the whole country is habitable, did you consider the difference in geography?
We only have the coastal cities, most of our country is desert where noone lives.
What do we do add to the already over populated Melbourne and Sydney?

What a lunatic this guy is.
Worse, he is dictating to our prime minister on policies.
The Australian Labor Party was elected into office because the Greens gave them their votes.
The ALP must keep the Greens happy to stay in office.
It is like a new coalition.
how about some balance , why dont you post some of bill Heffinins finest statements or perhaps some of Mad hatter Katter. A lot of pollies say stupid things. put up stupid policies .
The greens have some great policies and some stupid ones. pehaps you can talk about Abbot wanting a second intervention in the NT. seeing as how the world says we are violating human rights with the first one.
Please enlighten me with what the above mentioned pollies said?
Give me anyone's views other than the Greens views.
I have not seen anything that I can agree with when the Greens speak.

you ask me to look at the geogrophy
The UK would fit within Victoria, nearly within tasmania, how much of either have amy desert to speak of !!!
sure our nation has many arid areas. thats true but our livable areas are vastly vastly huger than the UK
Then again look at a nation the size of afganistan, Iran etc that also have vast arid areas and their population is massive as well
Maybe its a bit of greed on the part of those who sprout their hate for others
XenephobiaAUSSIE AUSSIE AUSSIE0 -
Are you from the UK?
If so you don't know how bad the overpopulation is.
I don't hate illegal immigrants and am not a xenephobe.Adelaide 17/11/2009, Melbourne 20/11/2009, Sydney 22/11/2009, Melbourne (Big Day Out Festival) 24/01/20140 -

No live here in the land of oz. Know exactly how good we have it.
been to UK quite a few times, great place.
and if you want to talk overcrowded, go to shanghai estimated to have 23,000,000 people
go to india
so the uk pales to what china has
now look at china lot of arid areas, pretty much similar in size to us 1.3 billion
we are severly undercrowded, we encourage those that are here to have more children, but we we want to say no you cant come here in a boat. your bad bad peopl if you do
Xenephobia is the fear of people/others . what else is it then. no one fears the irish, pommy backpackers who fly out here take aussie jobs and wont go home.
But boat people they are evilAUSSIE AUSSIE AUSSIE0 -
We don't need more people until we get transport, housing, hospitals, and infrastructure right.Adelaide 17/11/2009, Melbourne 20/11/2009, Sydney 22/11/2009, Melbourne (Big Day Out Festival) 24/01/20140

I would rather they be here to pay for that infastructure instead of us having to pay for somyhing they would use when they get hereAUSSIE AUSSIE AUSSIE0 -

Kinda similar but kinda different, but there was just recently a big protest an my parents semi-rural suburb about a new development of smaller blocks of land. The people's main argument(amognst a massive list of just rediculous claims) was that there was not enough infrastructure like hospitals and transport ect ect. Well you do need the people for government/local councils to justify spending the money. But the other part where the bit themselves is they are building a massive hospital not more then 15 minutes away, and in the same area as the hospital a new train line will be completed by 2012. So tether argument was redundant anyway.
Ha ha, here is their list of reasons:
This is just a sample of how this development will affect you:
Bored teenagers walking the streets at night (There's NOTHING to do out here)
Graffiti on our homes, shops and streets,
Crime will increase
Hoons doing burnouts late at night
Loud parties every weekend (with loud obscene language)
Massive traffic congestion at Woolies traffic lights EVERY DAY
Local bird populations will be wiped out by all of the new resident's cats
Disappearance of our local kangaroos,
Disappearance of our local hares,
Up to two dogs allowed PER DWELLING (barking constantly at night when disturbed by hoons)
Motorbikes & Trail bikes on weekends
Having to hear the domestic disputes from our "packed-in" neighbours
Kids jumping into our yards retrieving their footballs and tennis balls
Lawnmowers and whipper snippers going ALL weekend at least somewhere in the new estate
Need to keep your sheds locked and houses locked
Disappearance of our Rosellas, finches, sugar gliders, kookaburras, kingfishers, frogs
Goodbye to gazing at the stars...You won't see then due to so many street lights
The list can go on indfinitely but our current lifestyle WON'T if we don't try to minimise the density NOW.condescending and sarcastic since 19800
