While in theory that would be great, if the original source was non-HD digital, it really wouldn't matter as it would just be an upconverted picture. I'd imagine most of their footage through the 90s is probably just regular definition digital. Hopefully, I'm wrong.

I'm pretty sure The Godfather wasn't shot in HD and that looks fantastic on Blu-Ray. The problem is will PJ pay for this conversion process for previous DVD's. I highly doubt it. Especially because they won't sell enough units to justify the cost to do it. It's not like a major motion picture where millions would be bought.

It was shot on actual film though. Much easier the catch all the details in the transfer resulting in a beautiful picture. Transfering from a mid-quality digital source, the details aren't there in the first place so they can't be restored. Maybe Pearl Jam filmed their stuff on film rather than digital but it's highly doubtful they would have lugged all of that equipment around.

Yeah at the who at kilburn blu ray looks pretty good too. Also blu ray doesn't just affect the picture, the SOUND is a huge upgrade as well and what I'd be looking foward to the most if they reissued the dvds...especially Touring Band (not that it sounds bad as it is)

As stated - it was shot on 35mm film. In theory there is no limit on how detailed you can get it scanned. (8k is being talked about being a practical limit).
SVT was shot on 16mm. I don't see Pearl Jam re-realesing that on Blu Ray.
Touring Band was shot on "cheap" cameras in standard definition.
Live at the Garden was without a doubt shot on standard definition.
Immagine In Cornice (shot on different formats should have been realesed on Blu-Ray in 2007. Now, no way they will re-realese it.

I have checked Amazon.ca to pre-order Water on the Road on BlueRay but only see it on DVD. I see the BlueRay version on Amazon.com but not .ca.
Any other Canucks having the same issue or can give me a link I would appreciate it greatly!
Honestly... Had the issue, bought on amazon.com. Our dollar is strong, and shipping is still only $8.. I find it hard to believe 10C will charge us any less than $21, and I have absolutely no faith in Ten Club's ability to deliver promptly as Amazon does.

They can go back and source the actual film reels into HD.
You couldn't take HD footage with camcorders until recently and i'm sure PJ wasn't lugging around film in the early 90s, especially in the beginning.
