finally listened. is that mike playing the main its OK riff?? cause I hear stone continuing with the daughter/jam riffs, and when they played it live, he switched guitars to a les paul. so maybe this was an early version where they were trying things out?? its cool stuff though. thanks much
Meh.. Completely lacked energy.. Any live version would put that version to shame. Ed sounded sedated.
I agree, I mean thanks to gndcd402 for sharing this, and it is interesting because it is rare and all of that, but I would rather listen to the Jones Beach '00 myself.

By the way Eddie's vocals sound, it definitely sounds like something from 1998-2000. I am bummed that it only starts at the end of Daughter though.

flac is better for archiving and being able to compress the wav without losing any audio data. sure, converting flac to mp3 for your own personal use is fine, but if that mp3 was taken and copied to cd-r and re-ripped again to mp3, the audio quality would diminish quickly if the same task was repeated over and over with said mp3 taken from the cd-r.
i know a lot of people do not like flac--maybe some people want an "easier" file to handle, or just do not have the space; which i cannot understand these days, because hard drive data is super cheap--but at least respect the wishes of the person who uploaded this, and the person who gave it to him, so fans get to experience more rarities possibly down the line.
i know talking about flac vs. mp3 is beating the dead horse, but the more people that decide they can hear and understand the benefit of flac may give them an alternate archiving method and/or listening experience.
i am still somebody who would like to see the pearl jam 2005 live downloads be released in flac some time in the future. i would gladly pay a few bucks more for them.
i have witnessed some performances. i have soaked up a lot of memories.

honest question: why is sharing the mp3 any worse than sharing the flac?
whatever helps more people hear it
+100
I've never understood the FLAC snobbery
Why should FLAC people decide how I listen to my music?
they're not telling you how to listen to your music, they're asking you to SHARE it in the best quality possible. you're free to record it onto a cassette and listen to it 1000 times on a radioshack walkman with external speakers if you want. just dont spread it around so when people are looking for it, they get it in the original quality.
Still..."please don't spread mp3s of this" sounds a hell of a lot like saying "screw 'em if they want to hear it and they don't use FLAC...this is only for the cool kids"
Maybe I'm missing something but just as I saw it was a FLAC flle, I'm assuming anyone seeking FLAC would be able to notice they are about to download a supposedly shitty mp3 file
Oh well....now off to find the mp3 that some dunderhead has certainly already done....you gots to love the outcasts
All I have to do is revel in the everyday....then do it again tomorrow
They say every sin is deadly but I believe they may be wrong...I'm guilty of all seven and I don't feel too bad at all

it's all in how someone reads it. i saw it as nothing but a simple request. do i prefer mp3 over flac, well when it comes to archiving, yes. if it's the only source available i will take it, but when a higher quality version--like flac--is out there, i will go for that.
unfortunately, some people who encode mp3s to this day still have no idea what they're doing. there are people who like to save time/don't care about audio quality, and still assume 128kbps mp3s are acceptable for the encoded songs.
we are lucky we have tapers who share their shows in flac, especially a lot of the '95/'96 shows that sound terrible. now imagine taking them from flac and degrading them to 128kbps or 192kbps mp3s. i am sure they would sound a lot worse than they already sound in format presented. :geek:

Seriously guys, it takes about 30 seconds of effort to convert a song to MP3 (FOR YOUR OWN USE ONLY) if you're that crazy for crappy sounding files. If someone has the good courtesy to share these tracks in FLAC at least do as they've aksed and don't share MP3s around.
If you're a fan of music I can't fathom why you'd bother with MP3s in this day and age anyway...

I'm not trying to be a dick or anything like that...not at all...not even wanting to argue actually...but i still don't get it.
So, say for instance, I create my own mp3 of the song and I know 10 people who would also love to have an mp3 of that song, perhaps those people are even huge music fans despite their non-use of FLAC.
The way I am reading the FLAC lovers' comments is this....if you have an mp3 you cannot and must not pass it along to a fellow music fan because the sanctity of the almighty FLAC will somehow be diminished even though the FLAC file and the mp3 file exist totally independent of the other.
I just don't see where there is an issue when some people want FLAC and other people want mp3....if everybody can get what they want I just don't see the fuss.
But, whatever. It doesn't much matter at the end of the day. I'll leave the FLAC to all the real music fans and slop around with my shitty mp3s.
All I have to do is revel in the everyday....then do it again tomorrow

Flac is like safe sex while mp3 is like unprotected sex. For example, using Flac, you can have sex/plays hundreds & hundreds of times and the protection/quality would be sweet for a long time. The right way to go. But on the other hand, doing it mp3 style, unprotected sex, after a few hits/transfers to friends, the diseases/quality goes bad. Something to that nature. :P
The point is you want the best quality. The way it was originally made. Taking a product and converting it to the lowest quality and sharing that 2nd grade product to others, really sucks.

Best hangover cure ever! Thanks PJ and original poster.
Just like Winamp (http://www.winamp.com/), so what's the point of converting it?
I'd love to know this too.... are u guys talking about sound quality?

Also it takes one minute and like 2 megabytes to download VLC player which plays pretty much any file known to man.
