He shoved a guy after he gave the high five. It looked like a fight was going to happen.

I'm amazed that many people were at a Pirates game.

Surprising, considering he was definitely 100% completely sober, yet relaxed, as he'd have no reason to be prepared for any sort of physical conflict.

Perhaps one of the many bibles he keeps in his various pockets kept him safe from the blows.

I think everyone was chanting USA cuz the dude was wearing a "USA jacket".

He kinda looked like Goldberg.

Judging from the video i would sue the cops, but we don't really know what took place before this. Least it makes the philly tasering last year look better? :?

I really think this is usually you guys thinking things are made out to be so worse when it has to do with Philly. When the kid was beaten to death outside CBP, it got almost no national attention.

The Dodgers thing has been everywhere for a week plus. ESPN and all other baseball news outlets have had constant updates about his condition and I have heard about the Dodgers security plans a bunch of times.

the cards fan that got run over and killed after a phils game too.

I think philly is worse than everywhere else. there are incidents everywhere, but in philly this kind of shit seems commonplace

    Forgot about that.

I found it mildly amusing that after the Dodgers thing everyone was saying "could you imagine the attention this would get if it was in Philly?" Um, it did, just wasn't an opposing teams fan. Short term memories.

    i dunno man.

the national media still, quite often actually , reference some drunks who threw snowballs at a drunk santa some 40 years ago as proof that wer'e all a bunch of jagoffs. happens all-the-time. shit like this or browns fans throwing beer bottles onto the field a few years ago (yeah, nobody remembers that  ) rarely gives a city a black eye like some of the stuff that gave philly one.

as an example, if phils fans dumped beer on cliff lee's wife and he ended up signing with the yankees (no matter what the true origins of that story were) the national media would never let us forget about it. as it actually happened though, i bet it gets little to no attention from this point forward.

and i haven't seen a lot of coverage of the dodgers' incident. although, i haven't been seeking it out either.

I agree that that event is used way too much but I feel like it is just one of those events that are never really forgotten about, kind of like the Disco Night in Chicago and ten cent beer night in Cleveland. Sure way too many words are written about it today but I think its just one of those things.

I mean, I would imagine we won't hear much about it because the dude said he wanted to be in Philly and that that event had nothing to do with it. Don't realloy know how things would have gone if the situation were reveresed.

I do agree that the national media overdoes it with thoes tired cliched events, but I do think Philly gets a pretty fair shake of it from the national media. Of course events like the taser and puking dude are going to get a shit load of attention. One was on the field and the other was absolutely repulsive. I think they would have gotten just as much attention if they happened anywere else though.

Actually the guy didnt look like he did anything bad after watching it a second time. the kid who he was mad at looked like he was being a punk and then when he shoved him, the cops tasered him. I dont think the cops should have tasered the guy over that. Plus he wasnt resisting or attacking the cops at all.

I just hate the drunk idiots in the background shouting USA for no apparent reason and the drunk girls yelling stop it. as if yelling stop is going to do anything....

you're right, it does happen everywhere. It just happens all the time in philly.

I do agree that some things, like the santa clause crap, is tired. I think the stereotype rings true though

    jorts = jean shorts

the worst fashion statement a person can make. along with crocs and visors

I don't want to get into a gigantic philadelphia fan sterotype debate but my 2 cents are that there are way too many people at phillies and eagles games that are only there to drink and be there for the sake of being there. Yes, every team has fans that drink to much and act like idiots but having been to a lot of stadiums, I feel like Philly just has more than other places and it leads to a lot of problems. Edit: And yes, these things happen all over the place, but Philly and the Dodgers tend to have these events repeat themself.

happens everywhere. i bet a google search can come up with something similar to the car thing from last year.

you only think it happens more here than elsewhere because you're from here and have an unsual distaste for your fellow philadelphians.

i should start a thread on all the nonsense that happens elsewhere....
