Will there be a line up of people well before hand waiting to buy a few copies that places get in? Just wondering, I'll probably stop by but not sure I'll be there before the place opens so I'm not sure what all will be left. Seems like a way for records stores and employess to make a few extra bucks along with people willing to wait in line for hours.
It depends what size store you go to. I went to a decent sized, but local shop in San Luis Obispo in CA for the black friday RSD and there was a small line, maybe a dozen people waiting outside prior to opening.0 -
Im going to a smaller sized store in Saugus for RSD this year, hoping there isnt a big crowd. Dont feel like dealing with the large crowd at Amoeba. Wanna get my hands on that Opeth 7" coming out and a few other goodies. ;-)0

Also, I just went through the list of RSD releases and compared to many other, this is a very weak release considering the original is readily available cheaply. I would love to get my hands on the Foo Fighters album but that will be tough to get.
on account of a different serial number, and probably a very limited press, hardcore collectors will want this...
I don't have an old one, and i'd like one! I'd like the new one too but for $50 I'd rather put in an extra buck and get an album...0 -

How does your shop know what they are getting already? The shop im going to said they wont know what they're getting til Friday at some point. :-(
I'd like to get those White Stripes 7"'s though.0 -
I usually get RSD stuff at Coachella, but since we aren't going this year, I did some checking into my local store policies:
You can buy one of everything, but thats it....you can't buy 2 of any title. Also, to combat flippers bringing their jr. fliipers with them, the limit applies per family, not just per person!
my local store ordered everything, but they are not sure if they will get everything. On the actual day, they suggest you write down what you want when you are in line so they can have the stuff ready when you get to the counter. All RSD stuff is kept behind the counter.0 -

Got the list from store in Manchester that I was going to go too and they won't have the Deftones or Glassjaw releases. Bit disappointed now.
Is that Glassjaw LP a UK thing? Didn't see it listed on the RSD site. Is it something new? I seem to remember something about a Worship and Tribute reissue.0 -
There is a list and PDF on the RSD website that list all releases and their total numbers. If it does not have a number, like the pearl jam and Foos release, then it is not limited.
The Foos are doing a RSD release and the album is expected to be in other formats later.
As for the PJ single...
It should be noted that sometimes their are "secret releases". Last year if you bought the Black Keys or Devo singles, neither that special or limited, they had a website and redemtion code etched in the vinyl. If you figuredit out you could get a split 7" with black keys and Devo. There were only 200 of those.
I could see this on the PJ release... Nothing special but a secret code to get an EV 7" or something."Mark it 20, Dude."0 -

What do you mean "the Ohio single"??
And is anyone from Columbus going to Magnolia Thunderpussy on Sat? I am and have never been on RSD anyone know what to expect?"I'll ride the wave,Where it takes me, I'll hold the pain, Release me"
"I'm not about to give thanks or appologize"
