No, maybe their disposable income is just enough to make payments.

    So then...

they can afford it that way.

Why because he announced a tour?

Look at all the PJ stuff so far this year. Vs/Vitalogy Super Deluxe box set released, Ed Aus. tour, Ed US tour, Ed releases new album plus DVD of the 2008 tour. A new PJ Book, A PJ movie, all the PJ20 gear. Tres Mts. album, Tres Mts tour, Brad album(2010), PJ Canadian tour, PJ20 fest PJ, a possible PJ US tour, a possible S. American tour, LO10L, and not to mention a new album possibly by the end of the year.

Oh year Dave Matthews is doing his much better this year.

thats probably a management thing, they both have the same management company, and they both rely on musictoday for fest tix and presales.

I agree that PJ could do better than a 2 night run with other bands as calling it a festival, but what can you do, according to RedMosquito22 it's perfect so we either have to agree with him or be wrong.

Has a pj Canada tour been announced???

Also what does an Ed solo album/tour, tres mts album/tour or brad album really have to do with pj20. I think if anything they kinda take away from PJ20 and has members of the band focusing on other things besides pearl jam. They should have announce a world tour for PJ20, but we all know they can't be arsed to be on the road that long any more. so really unless you are in the continental united states PJ20 really means fuck all besides a few releases like the book and movie.

Oh and to stay on topic, I kinda don't get the payment options. So is total ticket price the $65 plus the 20 something fee and you just pay that off in three stages? Or is it the 3 lots of $65 totaling $195 plus $20 in fees?? And $600 and something for the VIP?

But thats only the first of 3 installments if I'm reading this correctly, therefore VIP is $825.00 plus $42.40 in fees. What are you getting from DMB for $867.40?

That's like saying "I want a burger from place A because its been setup a lot better, but place B is offering fries, milkshakes and onion rings." DMB IS doing a MUCH better job with promoting and planning their festival... PJ just keeps teasing it and not giving and details. Its tough for so many who want to travel.

That said - what in the world is DMB giving for 3 installments of $267?!?!? I hope you get one of his kidneys...

    hahah post of the day!

But it is pretty cool they can split the payment up. Maybe Dave realizes his tickets are outrageous. Comparatively, I still think Pearl Jam keeps their tickets as cheap as they can.

When did I say it was perfect? Nothing is perfect. But honestly it is what it is. Alpine Valley. I hate US outdoor theaters of this design but I'd rather this than an open field without seats any day.

Many more people than care about Pearl Jam unfortunately.

I can't ever see PJ doing a payment plan system. They have yet to figure out how to smoothly sell 500 tickets. It's a great idea though.

Who handles selling 500 tickets to over 5,000 people who want them well. Surely not ticketmaster.

People who want to invest increased membership dues into new servers. It's totally doable. The amount of tickets isn't the problem. It's people wasting hours refreshing and losing tickets in their cart.

It is pretty cool that you can spread out the payments. But $867.40 for VIP?
I dont ever want to see PJ have VIP sections (other than what they already have for friends and family).
  • Payment plans for concert tickets? Maybe they're just too expensive to begin with. But cool, I guess.

If Pearl Jam's fan base were a bunch of teenagers like dmb's, this would work perfectly! :D If you don't have the money, dont go. Very simple concept. I really feel bad for those that are poor and have to resort to a payment plan on concert tickets. I would love to have a look at their credit rating...
