Just saw this doc yesterday for the first time and really enjoyed it. In fact, I would love if this PJ20 film was done in the exact same vein (the Behind The Music model). My favorite part was at the very end, after the credits, when Grohl says "I wish I had taken this shit more seriously back then because it's worst fucking band name ever."

Just watched it and enjoyed it a lot, got me back into the Foos a lot again. I haven't listened to them in quite awhile.
Has anyone heard when the official release is on dvd/Blu-ray for this? Is it coming out at the same time as the album or later?

Guess I should have posted this here instead of the Wasting Light thread. Can't delete the other post on my phone so I'll just copy and paste for now...

I wish they would have mentioned Dave doing TCV. They hit on him playing with Queens and Taylor obviously wasn't cool with that so I'm just curious what he thought about TCV.

Also I thought it was odd that they didn't mention that Pat was back with them on Wasting Light. He was just there again but no mention of him coming back. I've always liked Pat but from this doc I just wouldn't trust him enough to be in my band. He seems to change his mind too much to be a regular committed member.

yeah i agree with both... though i guess TCV fits into a more natural break in the foo fighters narrative than the QOTSA drama did... don't want to stray too far or go too far over 2 hours

it seems like they've found a good 3 guitar balance with this album as far as pat goes... but i'd still be kind of pissed/skeptical if i was chris... i guess they're all adult enough now to deal with those issues though

  • The VH1 and Palladia sites are driving me nuts b/c I can't find when they are re-airing this. Just turned on Palladia and its on but ending in 10 minutes.

Does anyone know when either of these channels are airing it again? This week at all?

    Thanks!

According to my DVR scheduler, it's going to be on:

    VH1 Classic Monday April 11th 8:00 PM

    MTV2 Tuesday April 12th 1:00 AM

Palladia Tuesday April 12th 9:00 PM

I just watched it and it's really good. I only planned to watch a few minutes tonight and watch the rest tomorrow but I literally couldn't stop watching and 2 hours just disappeared.

ha, thanks, first thing i spotted. i can spot a pearl jam shirt from 20 meters away. 1st thing i notice and remember about people is shirt then shoes. if people are talking about someone i don't really know i'll ask, "What shoes were they wearing?" and can normally remember from that.

spotted a couple just the other day outside the hospital here in brisso the guy was wearing a white american tour shirt, and the girl was wearing a black surfboard cross shirt. i looked at bother their shirtsand the guy looked at me and smiled as if he knew i had made that he was a pearl jam fan, oh yeah and i saw a guy wearing a "i"m analog" shirt in a crowded shopping center and said to my wife, "ha, someone actually wore that out in public" she had no idea and couldn't even see the guy with the shirt.

anyway, back to the topic, the bit with dave's kid who kept asking to go for a swim was cute, and i also noticed just how much the red in dave's tattoos had faded, there is barely any red at all anymore.

I've watched this a couple of times on Palladia and love it, but was disappointed that they skipped over the performance with Jimmy Page and JPJ at Wembley.

Do they talk about that on the actual DVD release, or is it the same as what was on TV?

    Thanks.

I thought the exact same thing!! Grohl has talked about how that was pretty much the best night of his life rocking out w/ Jimmy and JPJ....I found it pretty weird that they left that part out. Especially since they did focus on those 2 Wembley Stadium shows.

Either way, I need to pick this one up on blu-ray.

Exactly. I think my favorite thing about Dave is that he is still a fan first. I would love to hear his thoughts on that night after the fact.

Hopefully someone who has the DVD/BR will respond.

DVD is the same. There are some extras about recording the new album, and some other things. But nothing about playing with Page and JPJ. Come to think of it, i am surprised as well that this wasn't mentioned.
  • Just watched this!!! So awesome! So lain-back... I laughed so much! :D Gotta love those guys!:lol:
