why would u want that shithead to ruin a team again? if he ever does ruin a team again, i'll hit the owner with a shoe and be damn proud of the jailtime. :P

I cant wait until next season, when Ill be in an area where I get the choice between these clowns and CBC.
For the most part CBC has done a good job in the finals. Ron McClean is an excellent host...love it when he interviews Bettman, he has has Bettman squirming in his seat a few times.
CBC completely puts any US broadcast to shame. National broadcasts on Versus and NBC are embarrassing to me as a hockey fan.
I dont understand why they dont look at CBC and take notes on how to do it right. Doc Emrick has to go too. His voice is grating and he isnt a good pbp announcer. I am hoping Pierre Maguire gets an executive job with a team somewhere. I would wish the same for Milbury but we know that aint happening.
They feel the need to try to create artificial excitement, when they only have to let the game play itself out. An NHL game, especially the finals, has plenty of charge.
Imnot a huge Hughson fan, but Bob Cole is still the man.
and yes, the Bettman interviews are classic. We wont see that on US TV though because they are completely subservient of the NHL.
there are a few decent regional telecasts. Dallas and San Jose come to mind off the top of my head.
CBC has been at it a long time...we get MaGuire on TSN, can't stand him. I like CBC better than TSN for sure, this is going back a few years but my favourite broadcasters were Danny Gallivan and Dick Irvin, I also liked Gary Dornhoefer as a CBC analyst way back when, no idea a what happened to him.
I'm no fan of the NBC broadcast.I have certain rules I live by ... My First Rule ... I don't believe anything the government tells me ... George Carlin

for one, we wouldnt have to see him on TV again (see John Davidson). for two. that would be one team who is not the Sabres who would be completely obliterated for the forseeable future.0 -

also, why does NBC feel the need to make the score overlay HUGE.... complete with a giant non-transparent NBC logo on one side, and a Stanley Cup Finals Series 2-2 logo on the other side (the entire game). That distracts me.0

Mike Milbury is the NHL's answer to Matt Millen.Using up my Ovaltine... like Ovaltine.0
-
I cant believe its possible, but Milbury was 10x worse than Millen in a way.
I guess he got talent in early... which is good... but the machine-like way he would squander everything brings fail to a whole new level.0 -
what's with the constant praise of cbc? i can't stand their coverage. don cherry, glenn healy, and jim hughson are all awful. the coverage itself looks like it's from the 80's. i guess i'm the only canadian who prefers nbc coverage. it's better looking and i don't have to put up with constant canadian tire and tim horton ads.
tsn has decent coverage, as does rogers, but pierre mcguire and gord miller are the worst canadians alive. oh my god i hate them. they ruin every world juniors.
"pierre, who's your monster?"
"you've been 'dion-ed!'"....
bob mckenzie and ray ferraro kick ASS though0 -
Yeah Millen was bad, did he take wide receivers in the first round 3 or 4 years in a row. I thought Mike Williams was the worst of the lot, then he found his way back into the league with Seattle and had a decent season last year. At least he got Calvin Johnson right...1 for 3 or 4 isn't bad
.
Milbury was awful as well...but an even worse analyst...from what you guys say JR is bad...don't get to see him though.
Does NBC hockey show a lot of commercials like when other sports that they broadcast? Thats another thing about CBC that I like, they limit the amount of commercials.I have certain rules I live by ... My First Rule ... I don't believe anything the government tells me ... George Carlin

Henrik:
That wasn’t too much fun. My son told me a man was making fun of me and Uncle Danny on TV. I said that can’t be true because that’s what usually happens in kindergarten.
Cory:
Who cares what he thinks... If he'd been their general manager he would have traded them in their first year, anyway, like he did with everyone else.
lols.
not losing any sleep over milbury

I don't know I guess maybe it's because of my job and stuff but I have a few Afghani students in the ESL class I TA that get soo into it, and I think its just the coolest blend of cultures.
Watching my dad scream at the TV in angry Japanese is fun too
Yeah, I think it's wonderful too! I was recently watching the Chasing Stanley segment following one of the games. They were talking about how the HNIC in Punjabi broadcast has really brought in the older generations, those who have very little or no English. It's fantastic to seei love looking at the crowd shots during the broadcast all season, it's such a diverse, multi-cultural mosaic

Roberto Luongo on Tim Thomas ...
http://www.foxnews.com/sports/2011/06/1 ... -love-too/
When asked to give the goalie's perspective on how difficult it is to make a save when the puck springs off the end boards like it did leading Maxim Lapierre's Game 5 winner, Luongo gave what was in all likelihood a verbal jab at his counterpart, Tim Thomas.
"It's not hard if you're playing in the paint," Luongo said after the Canucks took a 3-2 lead in the series. "It's an easy save for me, but if you're wandering out and aggressive like he does, that's going to happen."
"I've been pumping (Thomas') tires ever since the series started," Luongo said. "I haven't heard any one nice thing he's had to say about me, so that's the way it is."
Brings up an interesting point .... could Tim Thomas win the Conn Smythe trophy even if the Bruins lose?
I mean, he can ... but say the Bruins lose 1-0 again () ... would he? He's certainly in contention.

yeah, luongo's someone to be giving advice. what was it? 12 goals against in less than 2 games? i also enjoy his fourth grade mentality: well he's not saying nice things about me so i'm going to say mean things about him.0 -

He could...but does it really matter to Thomas or the Bruins or their fans? Not Likely. If The Canucks win 1 of the next 2 and its really low scoring, it might be hard to ignore Luongo as MVP...really think about it, the Canucks are up 3-2 in the series having scored 6 goals...thats 6 goals in 5 games, just unreal.

Believe me, if the Bruins lose, I don't really care. It was just a topic of interest to discuss, at least, I thought it was.
Conn Smythe is for the entirety of the playoffs. No way it goes to Luongo. He lost his starting job once and gave up 12 goals in 2 games in the final ... that's not the most valuable player in the playoffs.
I'd say the edge is to one of the Canucks offensive stars, and if not them, it'll go to Thomas before Luongo.
And again ... if the B's lose the series, it's no consolation to me."You're one of the few Red Sox fans I don't mind." - Newch91

Win or lose, the Conn Smythe should go to Tim Thomas, The canucks have had a "team effort" this playoffs, just as well or the twins would not be popular in Vancouver.
Take out the 2 games against the blackhawks and the 2 in Boston, Lou for Conn Smythe hands down, but you have to count them, I'm sure some skayers have had 4 bad games and still might with but I think its different for a goalie.Arms wide open with the sea as my floor.0 -

Keep in mind while answering the question, he also said Thomas makes saves that he wouldn't, referring to their positioning. It was a fair comment, but morphed into something else by some of the media down south.06.19.98 Vancouver | 11.06.00 Seattle | 05.30.03 Vancouver | 09.25.09 Vancouver0
