Asheville was incredible. He sounds better than ever and the setlist was amazing. Kudos to the Asheville crowd who for the most part was very respectful to Chris by not hollaring dumb shit throughout the entire show. A couple of other notes that aren't listed on the setlist...
He went into something I'd never heard before in the middle of "Sweet Euphoria". Not sure what it was but it was brief and then he came right back out and finished "Euphoria". Also, he talked at the beginning of "Burden In My Hand" about how "this was a song mostly put together by Ben in a tuning that Chris had never heard before and hadn't heard since" He then very briefly teased "Head Down" but ultimately went straight into"Burden" so I don't know if he's prepping "Head Down" for future shows but if he is, I'm jealous of those of you who are yet to see him.
For "When I'm Down" he actually sings along to a vinyl recording of Natasha Shneider's piano track from the album (Yes, he actually cracks out the wax, spins it on a turntable on the side of the stage and sings along to it). He does the same thing for "Scream" (which skipped), playing guitar and singing along to a 2nd guitar track and drum track.
Lastly, very funny moment when Chris commented that this was the first show where everyone was standing (which wasn't really an option since there are no seats at The Orange Peel) so he thought it would be awesome if this was the first ever acoustic show with crowd surfing. Then during "Scream" two ladies crowd surfed for him and he was clarly amused. Very good show and for those of you going to future shows, get you ass there early and check out William Elliot Whitmore. You won't regret it.

Doors were at 8. William Elliot Whitmore was on at 9 sharp. Played about 30 minutes. Chris was on around 9:55 and played for just over 2 hours I think. I can't stress enough that if you're going to a show, get there early and check out W.E. Whitmore.

Enjoy...it will be an awesome show. I've seen Chris 3 times on his own and he keeps getting better.

Shhh...don't tell anyone but I think I might have enjoyed the acoustic show Wednesday night even better than when I saw him with Soundgarden. ;)

    No! That never happens! :D

Actually, keep your fingers crossed that there will be an official release. The other night in Asheville I noticed at least 3 crowd mics (2 on stage and 1 at the board) indicating that Cornell was recording the show. Hopefully it is for more than personal use.

    13.Finally Forever
    14.Thank You
    15.All Night Thing
    16.Man of Golden
    17.Comfortably Numb
    18.Say Hello To Heaven
    19.Mind Riot

    22.Black Hole Sun

Cornell was absolutely fantastic, just short of being as good as Eddie was solo. His voice is unreal, the setlist was almost perfect, and seeing him in a small venue was incredible. I knew it would be a pretty special show when he busted out a Syd Barrett cover for the opener.

Just came back from Town Hall. F**king awesome! Enjoyed it much better than the previous show I saw following the release of Carry On. Please please please let there be a boot! Also wanted to say I was pulling Orchestra tix for today's show this afternoon so definitely try ticketmaster day off if you're still looking for tix!

Was at Town Hall last night. Chris was absolutely brilliant. Best vocalist I have seen in person, bar none. A couple of Temple of the Dog songs, one Mother Love Bone cover, one Springsteen cover... awesome.

I did have one question though. This morning I googled the setlist. I found this first:
    http://www.setlist.fm/setlist/chris-cor ... 3aca1.html

this setlist claims he did a second encore - doing Zeppelin's "thank you". However, I left after he did "Imagine" - and the house lights were put on, and they put Radiohead music on. This has to be an error, right?

A second reported setlist, refutes a 2nd encorse:
    http://grungereport.net/?p=4089
    Camden - 5/28/06; Camden - 6/20/08; MSG - 6/25/08; Newark - (Ed Solo) 8/7/08; Philly - (Ed Solo) 6/12/09; Philly - 10/30/09; Philly - 10/31/09; Newark - 5/18/10; MSG - 5/20/10; MSG - 5/21/10

Yeah, we left after Imagine and it seemed over-over. So I was surprised by the setlist.fm listing. Happy to hear it was incorrect.

    Great show!

BRILLIANT show!! 10 x seeing him solo. State Trooper <3! Cool to hear him playing alongside the vinyl but got me thinking how crazy good it would be to hear him looping ala EV solo better days or Arc. Going back for more tonight :):):)
