    they were spun off and bought by Direct TV, which re-branded them. If you've watched a Pirates or Rockies game, you have seen Root Sports

    Nice, thanks. I am obviously too lazy to look it up. That is a stupid name for a TV network, even more so after reading that.

    That is correct, ROOT Sports has nothing to do with Seattle specifically as they are the main sports network for Pittsburgh, here in the NW, the Rocky Mts, and Utah. It is the old Fox Sports.
