i'm still waiting for a source on this line:

"90 percent of the people in Section 8 housing are minorities"....

probably won't get one, because there IS no source that says this aside from the poster who wrote it..
    ...
Statistics pulled outta the ass... those count, right?
Like, 72% of people who use statistics in a debate are wrong 57% of the time.
I just made that shit up just now... sounds true to me... because I just pulled them outta my ass. Works for me.

We had a similar situation pop up where I live.
About 10 year ago, there was construction on a site that used to be a gas station and some old storefront a block away from my house. There were all these residents who went out and protested it saying, "NO PUBLIC HOUSING" because that is what was going up there.
I went to a City Council meeting to see what the deal was... turns out... it WAS Public Assistance Housing... for old people on fixed income. It was also printed in our local newspaper (you know, the one that shows up at your door for free and no one ever reads them)... still... the "NO PUBLIC HOUSING" people were out there throughout the construction.
They finally either figured it out or just lost interest. Anyway, it's been there for a while... and unless you hate poor old people, you don't have a problem with it.

In the spirit of the upcoming Easter Season... I would like to add this quote from Jesus Christ:

Wait. What? Jesus didn't say this?
And of course, no God fearing follower of Christ would ever feel this way, either... right?
    Okay.

    Happy Easter, everyone!

OLD poor people are the WORST, because they're even less likely to mow their lawns!

I'm glad that you guys are around to remind me that I wasn't completely mistaken thinking that PJ fans were a little more open minded than many were leading me to believe.

Just want to point out that not taking care of your lawn does affect other people besides just looking bad (and I know that's an opinion) and possibly lowering property values.

I'm someone who gets satisfaction out of having a nice looking lawn with good landscaping, flowers, etc. I put a little effort into it. I have a neighbor whose "lawn" is connected to mine. The "" are because there is very little grass and lots of weeds, clover, etc. They mow about 4 times per year. Guess where my lawn has the most weeds growing in it? Guess where I have to spend the most time trying to make my lawn look good?

My whole point is that it's pretty small minded to think that things do not affect other people. EVERYTHING we do as people has an affect on others where we realize it or not.
The only people we should try to get even with...
    ...are those who've helped us.

Right 'round the corner could be bigger than ourselves.

Hahaha...I love when people use open-minded to mean, I agree with you and you are right so you must have an open mind about things.

I don't recall anyone suggesting that things don't possibly affect others. :?
