Did you guys notice that the YT videos are being taken down by the 10c?
Pretty strange I thought-they don usually do this do they?
this has to be bigger than what people thing. the idea that the dont want them up there cuz he fucked up a few songs is absurd....something else is in the works

yeah it says taken down for copyright
but that doesnt necessarily mean anything
I just though it strange, because they usually leave that stuff up
Well there was a strict no camera/video policy and Ed mentioned on stage a couple of times how he didn't want things Youtubed. I'm guessing due to the intimate nature of the shows he is being protective of it.
There were no visible cameras filming it, if that is what you are suggesting.
I think its great that 10c is pushing back on folks who get off on filming EV shows-WTF!!!! After all of the signs in the venue, the announcement in the lobby, the posts on this board, not to mention Eddie saying it himself, is this not enough to get through to people!! I wouldn't be surprised if the people recording were the same folks yelling "we love you Eddie" every 30 seconds....

Actually, I agree with this.
Just curious as to why the change.
Because the phones are annoying as hell to both EV and the concert goers?
I, personally don't like seeing all the cellphones being taken out and stuff like that. I just find it annoying as hell. I'm glad they're doing something about it!

Good reason.
I think you nailed it .......it is very distracting to see a myriad of phones being held up all around you when you just want to focus on the performance!

I liked that Eddie asked security to back off. they were like the gestapo in there last night, constantly waving their fucking flashlights and pacing the aisles, it was more distracting that if people just held up their cameras. Someone in the audience got Ed's attention and listened to what he had to say and Ed told the security to back off a bit.

New Camera/Recording Policy For The Ev Solo Tour
No cameras of any kind, recording or recording devices at all (not even camera phones). If caught, your film, tapes, discs, smart cards, drives, any type of recording will be confiscated and you'll be escorted out.

Understood, but why the crackdown on You Tube?
Because you should see it for the first time at the show? Because videos cheapen the experience for those that are going later?
Will you let them up after the tour ends? Being an east coaster, Id love to see some of that footage.

I cannot stand assholes that think they can just do what ever the hell they want just because they want to.
So I'll just lie down and wait for the dream Where I'm not ugly and you're lookin' at me

Lizard.. I grew up in Tuolumne County and lived in Tuolumne city for a few years, so are you really from Tuolumne, or do you just say that because of the song? I'd like to hear each person in the fan club try to pronounce that properly just once! hehehe

Will the policy be in effect for the PJ tour?
Thanks
I personally think it's sort of obvious. The 10c doesn't want the shows recorded, and if someone is assinine to post vids the day after the show, well, I applaud the 10c for spoiling their fun. This societal voyuerism that has taken hold in this country is really quite disturbing, I for one are glad 10c is standing up and saying enough!
My only gripes about last night were idiots yelling out stuff even Ed couldn't comprehend, nevermind anybody else; fans deciding to be slick about pic taking, followed by the usual 5 minutes of Security blocking the view while they reprimand the idiot and ensure pics are deleted; and upteen folks who saw fit to get up every few songs and head to the lobby. I don't know if said a'holes were 10C'ers, I choose to believe they weren't, but they truly deserved to drive around Camden, NJ as punishment for their "sins".

you cant blame a guy for tyring to actually get an answer from the 10c
they posted a venue policy saying no cameras allowed at the venue
please direct me to the notice regarding web postings
thanks
sorry... didnt mean to direct my anger towards you...
but how do you think those web postings came into existence?? people breaking the well established rule... its a matter of respect for ed... and it cheapens what hes doing because i doubt anyone took any half decent footage (as is almost always the case with fan recordings) and if they did it means they were in someones way doing so
i would rather picture what these shows must be like instead of some shoddy videos ruining the mystique
If you allow people to post the vids then you just encourage more people to tape the shows .....making the live experience less enjoyable for those in attendance.

I agree with what you are saying. 100% percent.
But they have always been very tolerant of fan recordings etc.
(And I must selfishly admit I was looking forward to seeing them today!)
It makes sense. If they cant post it, there is less incentive to record it.
I hate the phones and cameras, that was part of the reason I walked out of the "pit" at lolla to many damn phones.
sitting at home, not being able to make it to the shows, not hearing/seeing Ed solo....
i love seeing these videos pop up...
thanks everybody involved!!!
I'm with you.
Camera phones are annoying, but this one was a 'pro' camera one and they're far more discreet..
and it's nice for those of us not there to be able to get an idea of what the show was like (second hands accounts don't say it like a video).
But I can live without videos... what I'm really waiting for are the audios!
But if 10c stamps on those like on the Vids, I'm going to be seriously disappointed in Ed :(
Actually, I agree with this.
Just curious as to why the change.

I'm assuming it has a lot to do with what happened at the VIC show last year. When Eddie opened for the band, the use of camera's/video camera's/cell phones was incredible, I've never seen anything like it. The whole place had flashes going off... If you listen to the boot you can hear Eddie stop his first song and refer to the craziness of all these people snapping his picture.
Would you want your picture snapped with flashes going off constantly at a short distance? No... so why do it to someone else? I thought common sense would have been good enough, but I like the new rules.

I agree. I think the new rules are good, even though it sounds like they aren't being followed.
I don't understand why it is so hard for people to understand why they are taking the videos off youtube. Why would they say no cameras and then allow people to post videos they recorded secretly?
There is something to be said for just being in the moment and having an experience with a group of people and music that cannot be seen on youtube the day after the show.
I'm hoping that they don't want the footage up on youtube because they're planning on releasing something themselves. There are a lot of us who couldn't be there and would love to see it on video. That said, I do hate it when the whole venue is full of flashing cell phones. But a professionally shot vid would be fantastic.

Could it be a disincentive for people to bring cameras and take videos?
