So... it other words... that's NOT crazy, right?
It's still crazy to pay that much. Where I live, you couldn't get people to pay that much to meet the fuckin pope. But I am crazy, crazy for PJ and Eddie and the rest of the boys. So I tolerate the prices. I think the more they charge, the more I get a bad taste in my mouth, and the longer that happens the more likely I am to stop going to shows.
...
I still don't get it... if you tolerate and pay the price... how crazy can it be? Does this mean you are crazy for paying it... or it is a reasonable price so that you tolerate its cost?
I mean, to you... what price is NOT crazy? And consider the times we live in (i.e. it isn't 1957 anymore and you can't get a Snickers bar for a nickel these days).
What price IS crazy?... meaning you have to be certifably insane to pay X amount for a ticket.
...
To me... the price is reasonable, considering all of the factors mentioned by previous members.
An unreasonable cost... to me... personally... I would NOT pay 150 dollars or more to see Eddie Vedder. Unless it was at someplace like the Hotel Cafe or Largo (150 or 200 capacity).

Hail, Hail!!!
The prices of these tickets have inflated more than the national inflation average. In 1996 paid 85 cents for a 20 oz soda and 2.45 for a gallon of milk. Now I pay 1.25 and 3.25 (give or take) respectively. So don't give me that inflation garbage.
not everything inflates in price at exactly the same rate. you have to take into consideration many factors, and the music industry has a lot of variables to consider. it's economics my friend. it's not crazy.
one example: when I was 15 (20 years ago), I paid $.30 to ride the bus. Now I pay $2.40. What's that rate of inflation? yes, your examples are also true, but to make a fair argument, you can't just take one extreme of it to prove your point.
I've never bought something and then turned around and complained about the price I paid. it just comes across as a bit odd is all.

On TIcketmaster, the night I posted this thread, the site told me it would be $94.26 or something like that after fees and shit. Yesterday I payed $170 for a pair, so it came down to $85. Which is better. Still high though, but im not sorry i bought them.

$85 is a little healthier. I'm glad you did it, you won't be sorry, guarantee it. You're going to MN right?

Yep, and that makes it a bit easier. I usually have to drive much farther or even fly so in reality, this will be one of the cheaper PJ trips (Im still considering it somewhat of a PJ trip) than most. Cheers! and I hope you have a blast at yours as well.
What am I talking about? Of course you will!

same difference.
I never asked earlier if that made you crazy.
if it was meant to be a lighthearted thread about how much you love Ed/PJ, then fine, but go back and read your OP. It sounds awful judgmental and bitchy about the band and its practices to me.
Hope you enjoy the show, man, I wish I was going! :(

You'll have fun watching the Keys play instead. The same day as MPLS show, Ben Harper is playing a free show about 30 miles from my house, I found out today. If I knew then what I know now, I might have tried for a different show.
