What a truly amazing man!! And what a truly great night!!
My highlights were probably Dont Be Shy, Immortality, RITFW and Just Breathe, but in saying that I definitely didn't have any lowlights –well except for maybe slipping down the beautiful stairs at that stunning theatre and sustaining a few injuries requiring ice packs and an incident report!! V embarrassing .....
Moving right along.....Not too many stupid requests and comments (in comparison to Bris 2) from the crowd & Ed cutting Hinn's mullet was hilarious. After meeting Hinn in Brisbane and knowing how much he loved that mullet I did have a giggle! Glad to see you got it back too Hinn!
Ed & EJ sang so well together too- really loved Golden State. Wasn't so much a fan of the girls music first up but I certainly can appreciate their voices.
I remember reading a quote from Ed years ago saying 'worship the music not the musician' or something to that effect, but after seeing a couple of shows, it certainly is hard to love only the music. A great showman who has an amazing ability to reach into the depths of your soul with his kindness and humanity as well as a great sense of humour and certainly not forgetting that Voice. Thanks so much for gracing our little island Ed- we hope you'll come back soon.

I've thanked Ed, but above all else, thank you friends. Wouldn't do this if not for youse. All of youse. 4 1/2 years now since I first put on that wig. Someone, something, has been looking over my back ever since I put that thing on. Show yourself, so I can share you with me mates :)

Thanks Pete for returning My Precious :)

Thanks to the audience for putting up with the two of us clowning around. I'm always up for a laugh, but I never really expected the band, or Ed, to join in my shenanigans. Hope I didn't overstay my welcome :)

Hinn, mate it was nice to see Ed having some fun with you. I thought though that he might have planned this (maybe not with you though) or does he always carry around scissors just in case he needs to use them during a show? Maybe that's why he had a few suitcases with him on stage :)
There's audio floating around of the show. The monologue he had for inviting me on stage pretty much suggests he planned it all along. He's seen me at plenty of shows and must've assumed that I'd show up to the next one, so he most probably planned the thing after we had that chat outside Newy civic centre, and got the scissors for this one time only. Who the fuck would bring a pair of scissors on tour?:lol::lol:

The suitcases are mostly just props, they held bugger all when I was on stage. I had a look around and there's some personal photos, sheets of paper (lyrics, most probably, wasn't looking that closely), the hat Ryan and Rob handed him in Newcastle, some surfing related items... you get the idea.

    Bring on Melbourne!
115 bucks for half a haircut by a novice? I want my money back!

I am mixing banter, I thought haircut was the second night.

What a show. Dead Man and Guaranteed moved me from my seat. No surprise, loved Picture In A Frame, and thought Sleeping By Myself was beautiful. Unthought Known, my god, the voice, the energy.
Speaking of energy, Lukin was like Dragonball. Absolutely loved it. And I am in awe of Eddie for Porch.
Immortality, almost got a heart attack there.
    The End, stunning.
    And so on.
    Amazing.
  • Thanks to Ed for the show, in a word "COOL"

beautifully mixed up with acoustic, electric, uke etc, great duets with Evil J...

I couldn't believe how everyone go right into Sometimes, there was so much energy, it was electric, then Ed settled us nicely right before drilling into Unthought Known....man. Setting forth/Far behind, Guarantee, Society were awesome but I couldn't believe I picked betterman from the first bar while so many were shocked halfway into the verse, I loved it. Porch went all the way through me and back again, around and around, message loud and clear. i thought Growin' up was perfect and a decent tribute to the great MR.

The electrifying Immortality with "electric guitar" was magic, my veins petrified instantly.

It's a shame it had to end but a magnificent ending RITFW and Hard Sun fitting to a standing ovation.

    Sincerest Gratitude,

P.S. I hope the surf has been great for Ed
