I'm sure this has been asked before, but why aren't these Eddie shows being released as bootlegs? They're such a unique experience, I'm sure everyone would be over joyed to hear them. I know I would. Thanks!

Just a guess, but i'd say doing all those covers probably makes it an expensive proposition.
  • Once again, almost perfect setlist. Wish Ed starts playing "End of the Road" just in time for his Northeast solo tour. Then it would be perfect.

What a show, what a performer. He held us captivated. Great start to the night with Don't Be Shy (having heard and seen it in recordings but never in person, it was awesome to see him play this one tonight, and it was perfect). He was in great spirits tonight and responded so well to all the inevitable hollerings from the crowd, eg. "Have a cigarette eddie!" To which he replied something like "that's the one request I'm likely to honour tonight". He was solid, unshakeable. Having been to many a PJ concert, I've obviously always enjoyed his performances, but flying solo, you can appreciate his presence, his voice, his conviction, the amount of sound that can come out of one man and his guitar. Sometimes, Unthought Known, Porch and Immortality were highlights for me. Actually, it seems unfair to all the other amazing renditions amongst this powerhouse set to name highlights! I really enjoyed EJ doing CT's part in Golden State. She has a softness that works well in a duet. Ed did a nice introduction to Picture in a Frame, talking about how a surfing buddy had once told him that ed's girlfriend was the prettiest girl he'd ever seen, and ed agreed with this remark, going on to say they've now got 2 kids together, and then showed us a photo of them, paying tribute to romance. As far as Immortality goes, it was listening heaven. Electric ;), normal tempo, possibly longer than normal intro (we were too busy going off our nuts about the fact that he was playing it to take note of intro length), with his own spin on the instrumental break between second verse and the "cannot stop the thought..." part. Sounded perfect, and it was even better in that eddie actually played this in response to a request from a fellow 10-clubber for tonight's gig. Loved his revamped version of Betterman too - I'd love for all PJ and EV fans to get the chance to hear this; it'll reignite many a love for this song. Also loved the RITFW acoustic version followed by Hard Sun to end a magnificent set by the big man. Crowd seemed well behaved and Ed was on his game. I feel very fortunate to have had the chance to see him solo now, and wish everyone the best for the rest of the tour. Thanks Eddie!

Wow just wow... I'm hitting the next two shows in sydney, but how can he beat perfection?

Unbelievable vocal performance from the man...

Highlights were Don't be shy, Sometimes, Unthought Known, betterman, Immortality (regular pace, electricy guitar... sorry I'm not a muso, but not acoustic), the end, Porch, Rockin in the free world and hard sun.

Plenty more may as well have given the setlist.

He spoke about west memphis 3 a bit, and his relationship with mark richards.

He said how his new solo album is on the ukulele they were all covers of 80s metal songs except for sleeping by myself which he wrote himself...

Someone yelled out 'Have a cigarette Eddie' to which he replied 'That might be the only request I'll do all night'

    Just wow...

Great setlist, awesome poster. Last night looks like it was the show to be at for sure
  • ... Oh, and I forgot to mention that the now apparently famous Hinn (one of the lucky 10c fans who met Ed the other day) was called up on stage by the man himself, after Ed related the story of telling Hinn that he'd pay him to get his hair cut and Hinn replied that he would if Ed had his own hair cut, then proceeded to cut Hinn's blonde mullet wig and subsequently Hinn's actual hair onstage. Another classic vedder moment, and apparently not the first time he's cut someones hair onstage (23rd August 1998 was apparently the precedent). Funny stuff indeed :)

    Another awesome night.

I sat down about 10 minutes before he started and noticed two white strats on the on the guitars stands and wondered why. He went from Sometimes on one strat to Deadman on the other. He had the second strat ready to go in drop D so he could keep the show flowing. Deadman was awesome by the way!!
He pulled out a black acoustic for Guaranteed. It had a really nice tone to it.
The last 3 songs of the first set were the highlight for me. Let my love open your heart, Lukin and an absolutely rocking Porch. The crowd went beserk during that and then when he start Small Town after the break he had to stop because of the feedback from the crowd singing so loud. We kept singing the first verse and then he start the song again. We almost brought the house down it was so loud. Just incredible.

Immortality was awesome again. He played it on his white strat. Moderate introduction. An absolutely beautiful performance!!

Rockin' in the free world and Hard Sun to finish. The Sydney crowd knew there stuff. Singing along to all the Into the Wild songs.

    Great great night.
I can't go the library anymore, everyone STINKS!!

Actually, not even - you were absolutely right, pjfan! Austicman has just reported that it was a white strat. Shows how well my eyes, ears and memory served me tonight :) Bloody beautiful whatever it was!

The ultimate night will be when he plays "Long Nights".
RITFW must have been cool to hear. Was that Ed solo?

I knew there's a reason why I never changed my profile pic thing. Knew it'd make sense again at some point!

  • Wow - just when I thought these shows couldnt possibly get any better Eddie pulls a show like tonight out.

It was electric the crowd really got into the night ,especially the final few songs.

Highlights for me were immortality, picture in a frame, the end and I loved golden state with EJ.

Thankyou Eddie for a truly magic night. :D

Brilliant- can't say any more than that. Bogans yelling at a minimum- thank goodness. Was up the top in the dress circle & still had a great view. I don't think that there would be a bad seat in that beautiful theatre.

Lots of people using mobiles to record- didn't see a lot of policing over that- they jumped on a few using a flash camera.

Highlight : Porch & Hard Sun- tho every song was a treat. Can't wait until tonight.

EJ & St.Cecilia-won't sit through that again- put me to sleep. Nice voices but boring.

Only really discovered Pearl Jam properly about 18 months ago, so I've never seen them live before. Last night was my first time seeing Ed on stage, and he didn't disappoint - SO amazing, I had tears running down my face when he played "Breathe", yelling my lungs out for lots of the others, and The Who cover song was awesome. Can't wait to go back again tonight. My mission now, is to see the whole band live - A.S.A.P. SOMEWHERE :D:D:D

Pearl Jam - PLEASE COME BACK TO SYDNEY SOON!!!!

That was one hell of a show. Totally different feel to Brissie last Saturday with more of an electric slant.

Really knowledgeable PJ crowd I thought and it felt like Ed dined out on that a bit. Highlights? Hell, the whole thing, but if I had to choose ....

Dead Man, Picture In A Frame, Society- Let My Love Open The Door, Lukin, Porch, Immortality, The End and Keep On Rockin' In The Free World .

Just awesome. What on earth can the great man pull out tonight? 10.5 hours and counting.

Echo everything said here. Will just add it was a near flawless performance, hardly any mistakes compared to other nights (which I dont mind at all, but I'm sure he was very happy with last night). RITFW was a nice surprise :)
