Does anyone remember the episode of Curb Your Enthusiam where Larry makes a phone call to put in a good word for a job applicant?

When Larry identifies himself as the creator of Seinfeld, the fella on the other end of the call (the potential employer) replies something like " I was never a fan". Larry then questions why the fella had to make such a comment. Hilarity ensues, etc., etc.

Great idea OP and so generous!!!! Good for you. We need more like you around!

EDIT: I know I shouldn't say anything and keep moving on, but I would just like to say that the "Respect-o-meter" just crashed on Crazy Breed's paranoid ridiculous statements. This guy arq is donating some serious shit for a good cause and you couldn't resist thrusting yourself into it. Unbelievable. After some of the crap I've seen people write about Japan around here and elsewhere, I'm not gonna say I'm embarrassed to be an American (never), but I'm embarrassed that some of these self-centered delusional morons are American. And I think you owe Arq a big fat apology. Alright, enough negativity from me. NICE JOB ARQ!!!!!!

first of all, i don't give a flying fuck about your respect-o-meter.......second, if you think I’m a paranoid, self-centered delusional moron then you couldn't manage a blip on my respect-o-meter....I'm not going to say I'm embarrassed to be an American (fuck no!), but I'm embarrassed that some of these head in the sand, blinder wearing, misinformed, unattached from reality, disinformation - propaganda swallowing, apathetic slobs think they are "true" Americans.

"JapanThe Japanese Foreign Ministry said that it would provide $200,000 to the American Red Cross to assist victims of Hurricane Katrina. Japan also identified needs in affected regions via the U.S. government and provided up to $1,000,000 in emergency supplies such as tents, blankets and power generators if they receive requests from the U.S. for such assistance. Private and corporate donations totaled over $13 million.[33] One Japanese individual, Takashi Endo, donated USD $1,000,000 from his personal funds to Katrina relief efforts"

I guess all those images of devastation we've been seeing in Japan are disinformation! You're more informed, blah blah blah. We got it. When we look for "true Americans" on a message board (about a band!), we look to you Captain America! You missed the point: Are you going to apologize to Arq for hijacking his thread trying to do something nice for somebody? Of course not.

Can we get back Arq's original idea please? This thread is not for arguments; take them elsewhere. If you want to donate to helping those caught up in the events in Japan and maybe win some PJ merch in the process, please do so. If you don't want to, don't. But don't leave comments here ruining Arq's generousity.

JAPAN?!!!?!! Take a look around you son!....OUR COUNTRY could use the $ too!!!

Let Japan worry about itself....they aren't living on borrowed time like the US is.

and NO amount of money is gonna get rid of all that radiation!

what the f..k you're talking? are you sick?

anybody has got his own problems and it's no secret we all gonna die one day - and you are saying that there are ones among us who deserve help (because they're inhabitant of your nation) and ones who don't just because they're f..ked up anyway (and not American)? and you really mean it?

of course there's no amount of money that is gonna get rid of all that radiation.of course there's no chance in saving all the people's lives. but if give a little something to those who really need, at least we make sure they can see a little light and feel a little better. and even if a single person is suffering a little less - it's worth every f..kin' cent.
by giving those red cross guys and doctors the chance to head over and reach a hand to the ones in need - we can help them to keep their human dignity - that's one of the most essential human rigths

yeah..I'm sick....sick of watching my country fall to shit while my Gov. gives away billions to fucking Israel & other nations instead of fixing up our own fucking country that is dire need of EVERYTHING!!! And we are BROKE!!!!!

and the red cross is fucking corrupt!!! I wouldn't send them a fucking dime!! you know how much $ was donated to them after 9-11-2001 that NEVER went to any of the families?? MILLIONS!!!! and they did the same shit with Haiti!!

so yeah....I think it's stupid to run to your neighbors house with your water while your own house burns to the fucking ground!!

This is just stunning. and even more so that its a serious comment.

regardless, nice to see a lot of people donating....and Jose - I also applaud you for your thought and action.

National economics is simply unimportant when there are innocent people in dire need. Fellow humans, little children, people in chaos, people without water......( the fact America like the UK spent too much money invading other countries.......is irrelevant when it comes to simple humanity).

The 'Im alright Jack' approach is all well and good until you find yourself in need......and Im for one glad the world doesnt work like that.

Back on track - Jose I donated, but please keep me out of the prizes, your whole thread here is amazing, but i wouldnt feel right being rewarded for donating, more embarrassed I hadnt already!!!

    great work mate

that comment about disinformation wasn't about Japan and it's earthquake...maybe you need a reading comprehension class....also, I talked with Arq in a PM and we are good...not that it's any of your fucking business....and i prefer Steve Rogers to Captain America.

but enough of this.....it's not the time or place.....just some misdirected shit i didn't mean to fling up in Arq's thread...again...i'm sorry Jose...and i'm done...please everyone just return to the original topic.
