I am advised that Ed has performed Better Days for the first time tonight with the music track behind him (he has told the crowd that he played all the instruments on the track himself) and that the Newy mob have received an encore of Masters of War.

i just listen to better days for what i think is the 1st time and i must say, i'm not a fan, but i can see why he needed a backing track, i don't think it would work to well just by himself.

He has also just done Arc again.

I'm told that Ed is a little off tonight in that he has had some difficulty remembering lyrics and has had to stop during songs on a number of occasions.

Maybe it was a late night up with the surfers!!

Ed's also just done Throw Your Arms Around Me.

Mark Richards apparently brought out tambos for the girls backing up Ed and has also showed his singing prowess by helping out with backing vocals for Hard Sun.

Better Days took me a good 4 or 5 listens to start to enjoy...now i really like it

i agree with no coder on the 4 or 5 listens required for better days - and that's not the only EV song i've found that this applies to. loving these setlists, bring on sydney 1!

There definitely was a main set of course but I only started receiving info just prior to the encore - I suspect that the crack down on phones/cameras etc prevents people from dishing out info during the show (well that and people just want to enjoy the show without relaying).

I am sure we will have an official setlist from Kat or Sea shortly.

What a friggin show, as some people above have said, he was a little off for a couple of songs, but as he so rightly put it during, we werent missing out on much as the songs were only short ones and he burned out halfway through them, it added character to the show and I really hope there is a bootleg series for these shows as this bootleg would be awesome, what till you see the set list, friggin awesome, as so many have posted from other shows, you never wanted it to end, and he said Better Days was also a one off for the tour, Newcastle only, remains to be seen tho. Has to be something different for all shows I guess. Off He Goes was a highlight for me.

Yeah Ed was stuffing up quite a few songs but in the encore he pulled it together.

Still, a great show. Tremendously great. Better Days was unreal. As was Arc. My skin is still tingling (or maybe that's cause he shook my hand).

No not really, I was waiting for it after reading about other shows, but for some reason, the crowd was reasonably well contained and appreciative of the music on offer, there was good natured banter between Eddie and the crowd, one of the funnier moments ending with Eddie commenting to the effect that Newcastle wasnt too bad a shit hole to be in.

There were people calling out songs, but Ed repeatedly told us the set list was pre determined well in advance and was mainly made up of request people had written in, not sure how many requests MR sneaked in, but am sure there were a few, I remember Ed telling the crowd for the PJ concert in Newie that MR made up pretty much the whole set list.

I think MRs first request was Thumbing My Way and it was unbelievable rendition.
