I understand that. And credit is WELL deserved for that however, that doesnt mean they're the greatest... They started a revolution for sure. But since them, there have been plenty of better bands. Music has evolved a TON since the Beatles. Thats why I said earlier their music is dated. Just because Ford made the first production car doesnt make them the best brand of car. Put it this way, if the Beatles just came out lets say in 2005, they wouldnt put out a single successful album. Now, if Zeppelin came out in 2005, they would be the shit (Best band ever hands down)! Their music WAS good 50+ years ago. Not soo anymore.... FACT.
I love Zep but the thing is, a lot of their stuff sounds the same (except Kashmir, Battle of Evermore, and I call Physical Graffiti their White Album) and In Through the Out Door is the only different sounding album and that's because Page was busy shooting himself up with heroin.
I agree - the Beatles wrote timeless songs that will still be being sung in 100 years time - 200 years time, if people are still around! I don't see how songs like Yesterday or Let it Be could ever be described as dated.
Anyway, I might be able to bring myself to vote PJ against Jimi - I think if Jimi were alive today he'd probably be posting on this board too!Cancel my subscription to the Ressurection
