I went to Liam and EJs gig in Sydney, in June and it was one of the best live shows I've seen!!!
I already had his album and loved it from the first listen.
I'm hoping he'll come back to australia and do some more shows!! Unfortunately I doubt he'll come to West Aus....so means I'll have to make the treck over east again - but it'd be worth it :)
the finn family is australian arent they? im sure he'll be back sometime soon... cant wait to see him for my first time!

    LMAO!!! Nooooo.

They're from New Zealand and the Kiwi's would tell you to wash your mouth out for saying that ;)
We do like to try and claim them as Aussies though :D

I met a few Maoris from New Zealand last summer. One of them as a drummer. He's around 21-23 years-old, and amazing drummer he is.

I found out about some slangs they used too. i.e. lollies = candy. I remember after buying some beer, one of them say we can place the beers in "the boot"

 I was like WHAT? didn't realized "boot" is referring to the trunk of a car.

I don't remember any other slangs though. :p

I tend to think that :o I'll prolly get hammered by the NZers for saying it :o

There's prolly almost as many Kiwi's living in australia now as there is in NZ.....and yeah - it's not that far....it's almost like another Tasmania :D

I say all of that affectionately.....I love the Kiwi's :)

Haha for sure. I really surprise to find out Jay-Z is popular over there.
We went shopping, and they asked where to get Rocawear clothes(Jay-Z's clothing company). One of them said he likes to dress up like a gangsta sometimes, it's always good to get weird stares from the locals over there.

Well lollies is just short for lollipops here ... but of course we use 'boot' as well so LongRd. is almost sorted for a UK tour as well :p

Think Liam has been based in London for a few years now so managed to catch him a couple of times live in venues at the back of pubs/bars that hold 100-200 people ... awesome to see live ... and yep am rocking the cd.
So are we strangers now? Like rock and roll and the radio?

Yeah...Betchadupa was based there for a little while, trying to make it....but it was a huge failure, so that's when Liam decided to do some solo stuff for a while.

Lucky you, getting to see him a couple of times.
I think that's another charm of his gigs....that he plays small venues. The gig I went to was only 100-200 people as well (didn't even seem like that many) and it just made it even better :) Vedder Soup was there with Hinny as well :)

Nah it was a separate CD in a cardboard sleeve (with full graphics) that you get when you buy the disc at the merch table. I'm sure it was very limited so maybe they ran out...when did you buy it? Keep in mind that it was from the April shows, so it certainly couldn't have been available on the EV tour until the August shows started.

He does some cool stuff like that. I know at the last gig I was at if you bought his single each one came with a different photograph Liam had taken.

EDIT: just checked and you can buy this limited edition vinyl as well as a limited edition of the album on vinyl (which comes with extra tracks and the cd) here http://www.transgressiverecords.co.uk/buy.html

ozsmalltowngirl hope you had fun with Hinn and soupy. Been a while since I got to hang out with them ... although I believe Hinn may be moving over here.

Do you know which show it was? Just curious - we already have the CD, the bonus CD with the vinyl and the two Kufala recordings (yes, big fans :)).

    Thanks!

It was Live at the Wiltern from 4/13

Had listened to him a bit before the tour, but after seeing him with Eddie, I'm gonna have to go see him at the Bowery in a few weeks!

Thanks for answering simkin...I was gonna say I couldn't answer til I got home tonight, which won't be for like 12-13 hours.

How are the bonus tracks from the vinyl/cd? I've been considering it, but not sure if I wanna spend the cash. Thanks!

me too. track by track it just has such a nice flow. reminds me that track sequencing really is pretty important and can add a whole other element to a record.

seeing him open for EV was such a treat.

his album doesn't do him justice. his live show is 100 times better.

going to see him a bowery ballroom in sept.

I want to say there are 5 bonus tracks? 2 are great (IMO, of course), 1 is pretty solid 2 and two are brief instrumentals which are good but not full songs per se. i highly recommend it though especially for anyone that doesnt already have the Cd since its free w/ the vinyl.
