When was the last time there was a flightline in America? Or a firefight including a foreign enemy? I know exactly where Bosnia is. What does that matter?
Why is it so hard to understand that the thinking that posters like Heidi and Electric Delta have provoke extremists?
Why is it so wrong to not want American or international soldiers fighting in deserts for no good reason?
There has to be a better way to fight extremism. It starts with getting the moderates on our side. You don't do that by blowing up their families. And you don't do that by being racist towards their peaceful people living amongst you.0 -

I have never advocated any of the terrible things you mentioned and I'm offended, frankly. I think you single out people like me because I have a dissenting opinion and I have the courage to express it. You have no right to put me in the same category as any extremist. Who do you think you are, exactly?Bristow, VA (5/13/10)0 -

You didn't read it properly. I said your way of thinking provokes extremists. But clearly your comprehension skills lack the wherewithal to understand how that could be possible.0 -
Does this mean if a black man robs a jewelry shop then we should all feel nervous when seeing black people around jewelry shops?
Of course not...this equation is nonsense. News flash: it was not one Muslim who killed Americans on 9-11....it was many acting together. And robbery is not terrorism. Are you seriously equating robbing a jewelry store with murdering thousands of people?
And I'm not equating robbery with murder, I'm equating bigotry, racism, and discrimination with bigotry, racism, and discrimination.0 -
I think she was forced out because NPR did not vet out the fake Islamic organization ... something the makers of Sesame Street had no problem doing.
She had egg on her face from the William's firing and the fact that she let one of her right-hand men walk into an ambush ... an ambush that could cost NPR hundreds of millions of dollars ... suggests she is not fit to run NPR's operations.Be Excellent To Each OtherParty On, Dudes!0 -

Well, if you check your facts, it was more than 19 Muslims that planned and carried out 9-11. 19 was just the number that made it on the plane. And your jewelry store robbery thing still doesn't pan out with me. All sorts of people rob jewelry stores: black, white, Asian, men, women, etc. How many groups of people fly airplanes into buildings? Hmmmm let me think. Oh, wait! I can only think of one group that currently engages in that type of murderous behavior. But I dare not speak its name, lest I be labeled a bigot. :roll:0 -

You've obviously never read the Constitution, nor any of it's amendments. If you've been in a firefight, then you've taken the same oath as me: "I do solemly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic"
Apparently, you don't understand that people who point a weapon at you are not "your friends." I don't care what color you are: you've obviously never been responsible to anyone other than yourself. The next time that you knock on a mother's door to tell her that, because of your decisions, her son is dead, will be your first time. This ain't about you, shitbag. This is about the United States. You tell that mother why her boy died. It may seem callous, but would you rather lie to her?Humility is not a bad thing; most great things were done before I was born.0 -

Whatever, I really have no problem with all you say. It is akin to white supremacists, anti-Semites, and every other type of racist that has existed throughout history. we're just in different times0 -

So now I'm up there with white supremacists and anti-Semites (see: radical Muslims)?? Even after acknowledging that there are a great many good Muslims? And I've never advocated "treating" Muslims as a whole in any particular way. Pointing out that radical Islam is the most clear and present danger to the free world is not racist. I'm sorry that the good Muslims get grouped in with the others, but maybe they should be more vocal in condemning terrorist organizations.
This is pointless. Your default debate techniques seem to involve name-calling and belittling, and little else. I've made my point, and I'm done arguing with you. I just have one last question: Is it lonely up there on your pedestal?0 -

Your ramblings sound a bit like Charlie Sheen. I guess you are "winning".
Speaking of telling mothers why their boy has died. That is part that sickens me most about illegal wars like the one in Iraq. Lying to mothers. Telling them that their sons or daughters died for a good cause.
If I were you I would watch your language around here. Or you may not be posting much longer.0 -

Unabated tolerance did not kill 14 at Ft Hood. One man did. It's people like you who argue in favor of discrimination, and it is unconstitutional and unethical. The rest of your post is irrelevant. I've been in the middle of a firefight and it didn't make me a bigot. Maybe because I can respect people's individualities and I don't place "brown people" in one category if a few of them point a gun at me.[/quote]

Well, I do agree that the "shitbag" comment was a little much. I've been called all sorts of lovely names  for doing nothing more than voicing my opinion on this site. That being said, I withdraw my previous applause as it relates to the name-calling.0 -
The s-bag comment was out of line. I apologize. Backsies? I want to talk to others who disagree with me. I'm not afraid of being wrong. If I'm wrong, I'll admit it. Convince me.Humility is not a bad thing; most great things were done before I was born.0

MY way of thinking provokes extremists? That's exactly what I suggested, so perhaps your comprehension skills are lacking.
By the way, weren't you the one who suggested dropping bombs on America in a different thread? I can tell you're a true man of peace.Bristow, VA (5/13/10)0 -
I mean, I knew this thread would get hijacked...but I got to tell you, and maybe I am just a little crazy, but I never saw this direction coming.
