Glad to see you didn't try something completely ridiculous like remodeling the ENTIRE HOUSE all at once. So much less stressful just to work on one room at a time. :P

Dude, you have my admiration for remodeling on ANY scale.
We remodeled both bathrooms in our first house and it was insane. After finishing them my prince offered to start on the kitchen (which really needed it) but I vetoed that one. I don't think our marriage would have survived.
When we bought our 2nd house we made sure we found one that we liked just the way it was.

I'm afraid that he'd spend more time teaching me how to do shit. I could never accomplish something like this on my own. :|

Brother-in-law of the year indeed!

Seriously though, I can provide some helping services. Call me if you need someone to give you cold beers while you're working. :P

three weeks later...not moving as fast as I had hoped, but we ARE making progress. three weeks of dealing with mold, asbestos, various critter poop and lots of dust. a dozen new can lights installed; a lot of new electric, 1000 ft of coax ran; 600 ft of cat 5. the plumbing is cleaned up. today, some real sheetrockers are there to patch and mud all the holes and missing drywall. when they leave, we can paint, lay the hardwood and trim everything out. then, the kitchen guy can do his thing and hopefully it will be move-in ready by the first of May. hopefully......

Very impressive. But just like your Uncle-of-the-year award, you've been DQ'd.

I see it didn't take you very long to forget about the wedding.

sheetrockers are gone. they fixed the 10,000 or so holes we put in the walls  . we even got a wall painted last night  . paint will take awhile, but after that it's on to hardwood. I had a nightmare the other night that we just totally fucked that up!
