Fan Club Only Tour is way....

Overdue.

After experiencing the drunk, obnoxious fans that pack the lawn and upper seats its time a tour of love.

Just think of the energy that would flow from such shows.

Also how cool would a white out be. Next tour all club members should wear white to the shows.

Or better yet, why haven't we serenaded the band yet? Think of how awesome it would be to break out into Elderly Woman, thus welcoming THEM to the stage.

just imagine....

It would be nice to exclude many of the meatheads who just scream for the band to "play Jeremy" the whole time.

I am sorry but that is an elitist view.

The music is for everyone, meatheads and all.

Then how about a small venue show?

Ben Harper recently toured playing small houses like Warner Theatre in DC, and the show was amazing.

More importantly the meatheads stayed home.

After the Camden show the drunk frat boys felt it was "cool" to cut line on the ferry back to Philadelphia. Don't they get the message PJ is trying to convey?

Better yet in DC while Eddie was speaking of off shore drilling before ripping into GD (perfect preface for that song) some dumb chick yells "shut up and play".

How long do we need these types?

I know the logistics would be tough and they would have to play many small venues to fit all ticket requests but it would be worth it in my opinion. One of the best shows I attended was last year in Athens, GA. The Killers were set to play a festival show in Atlanta but played a club show at The 40 Watt the night before. They opened up to fan club memebers only. No tickets were involved. We were made aware of the show via e-mail, only allowed two 'tickets', no transfers. Got in line at the show, had to have ID and e-mail confirmation in hand at front door. We were given wristbands. No chance for scalpers to get their hand on wristbands. Every person in there was a fan and it was amazing. It was like a 2 hour sing-a-long. No pushing, no shoving, just real fans enjoying a VERY unique opportunity. Check out the link to have a little taste of what it was like.

I was fairly drunk at the Virginia Beach show myself- I don't think I bothered anyone jumping up and down and signing but I was pretty drunk- a concert is a good time to let loose, ya know?

WOW, thats great and thanks for sharing. You are lucky indeed.

Probably the best show crowd wise I have attended has to be Reading during the Vote for Change tour.

A lot of was the mind set of the crowd. Most were there with the hope of a better world.

Not the lets get wasted and a be an as#hole mind set that so many bring to regular tours.

i think those two comments nail it on the head.

granted, it'd be nice to see it happen (as people like myself were lucky enough to see the Vic show), but there'll always be "that guy" at the shows, 10C member or not.

You would have to be a member before the tour or dates were announced.

That is easily solved. You have a cut off date for membership announce the show on 1/15 days but you had to be a member as of 12/31. Then if you join good for you but you aren't getting tix for the upcoming show.

I like the idea of a fan club only show where the band played an indoor arena (less likely of a curfew) and they played until everyone was exhausted.

I have been a member for 8yrs+(longer actually but seniority wise since I didn't renew in time one year) and there are people around me 16/17 years old and like someone on here said screaming for Jeremy or Daughter...WTF?

I was at the House of Blues Orlando radio station exclusive show in 2003. Not exactly the same as having a 10c only, but having a small show like that was something really special. I'd love to do something like that again

    very funny and good points.

pick another color then, more a show of unity among the fans not for the appearance.

HOB in Orlando was perfect. And would be perfect for a Fan Club show. Not a Radio Station show.I had to beg, borrow and steal just to get in the back of that show.

Actually, what would be neat is if they did a regular show, then a fan club show in the same city on back to back nights.

The Stones did that a couple years ago on the Forty Licks tour. For example, they played Veterans Stadium, the Wachovia Center, and the Tower Theater in Philly all in one week. Of course, there was no fan club involved for any tix, so Tower was IMPOSSIBLE, but to modify the idea...

Pearl Jam could do a night in Camden, then play the Tower for 10c only. New York could have MSG, then the Beacon 10c only, etc. That would be neat, and it takes care of both members and non members.

smaller shows would be nice, but if they are GA, you will have people pushing.
If they are small and reserved, there is less energy in the room
As someone else said there are meatheads in the fan club too.
Unless you have a douche bag detector at the door, there will always be a certain percentage of a-holes at shows. Its just part of going to shows. Unfortunately. Good rock bands attract that kind of crowd.

    My Fan Club Tour Ideas...
    ...
    Fan Club Only.
    One Show per Membership Only.
Very... very small venue... smaller than the Wiltern or Fonda... Viper Room or Troubadour size.
    Two tickets... non-transferable. No exceptions.
Arrive at the venue... name on a list. Wristband attached... into the show. No ins-and-outs.
    ...
Fan Club Only means only Fan Club members. Membership number does not apply because all shows are General Admission.
One Show Only per Member. Means you pick One show. Not two... not all of them. One show. If you want 2 shows... double up with another Fan Club member and swap tickets for 2 shows.
Very small (200, 300 capacity) venues.
Non-Transferable. Choose wisely... not an impulse buy item. If you can't make it because your Aunt died... the last thing you need to cry over is the loss of the price of a concert ticket.
Anti-Scalper. You and your plusOne both need to be there. You identify yourself... point out your plusOne and you both get wristbands. Once you are wristbanded, you are ushered in. You cannot leave to try to sell your wristband to someone outside. If you buy a wristband from some scalper for 300 bucks... you are a tool and deserved to get ripped off.
    ...
All setlists are different. Production team is scaled back (to olden days levels (circa 1991)). No opening acts. 30 minute intermission replaces the normal 'Encore Break'.
Allen Fieldhouse, home of the 2008 NCAA men's Basketball Champions! Go Jayhawks!
    Hail, Hail!!!

If Radiohead can play smaller venues, like the mini tour they did in the summer of 2006, than Pearl Jam can do it too. I saw Radiohead at the Tower theater that year and it was worlds better than when i saw them in Camden in 2003.
