i think the R+L has some thing to do with the strobe lighting ie the strength and color of the flashes ..I THINK .

Margaux Hemmingway - A film actress and model who had epilepsy from the age of 7

Grandaughter of Ernest Hemmingway.

Just been reading about her on wiki and it had a sad ending :(

Rik Mayall it says was as a result of a quad bike accident.

Made very interesting reading. Have a friend with epilepsy, she underwent brain surgery the year before last which seems to have improved things.

Anyway, I'm waffling on and I should be getting myself sorted out. Would love to win this prize, haven't got it and it would be wonderful!!

I didn't know about Margaux, I'll have to have a read about that. I have heard some people have to go under surgery to eventually get themselves better, I'm just lucky that meds work for me. Good luck mate!

Well I've read (but not checked) that Vincent Van Gogh,Alfred Nobel, Napoleon and even Socrates were epileptic. The ancient Greeks called epilepsy: 'Hercules morbus' or 'the disease of Hercules', not because Hercules was epileptic but because of the strength of this disease.

Hi again, You know I've already entered, but while reading about Julius Caesar, I also saw that it is speculated that DaVinci, Emperor Caligula, Drusus, Petrarch and Muhammad all also suffered with epilepsy, which they called the "Sacred Disease" (not sure why). You are certainly among a very powerful and creative population in history

i had always thought of joan of arc as being a sensitive or psychic too, but perhaps it was epilepsy..we'll never know. her visions seemed to be too prophetic and last too long though. i lean toward the psychic/sensitive, since i'm really interested in that sort of thing, being mildly affected with some sort of sensitivity myself, as are most of the women in my lineage. being celtic women..of course we are, right?

My sister has Epilepsy...and a photographic memory, go figure.
My cousin also has it but it is very severe she has had it sense see was a baby as far as I know.
both my sis and cuz keep it under control with meds, sis can drive but my cuz is bus bound if
she wants to just get up and go...and she does !

Ya so i'm an idiot, just act shocked anyway, R+L it turns out stands for: Reading + Leeds festival.
It was a regular Strobe Light warning, with a R+L to inform the veiwer where that concert was taking place.
