It's very interesting to see how other band's diehard fans feel about Pearl Jam. They seem to think Pearl Jam are full of themselves. People who are inferior usually think that of their superiors. ;)

That's disappointing!!! I really like STP's older stuff, in fact Purple is one of my fav albums. I try my darndest to see all the bands I like when they come to Australia but when I heard they were coming here I decided not to go because I knew how flakey Scott is and didn't want to risk being bitterly disappointed.

It's a gamble and you played it safe. Nothing wrong with that. For me, it was 20 minute drive and 40 bucks. It was worth the risk, even if the show would have sucked

I can agree with this part of the quote. There are a lot of fans around here who listen to nothing but pearl jam 24 hours a day, and if you say one slightly negative thing about any thing to do with pearl jam they jump down your throat.

Honestly I can't see how you can listen to nothing but pearl jam, I'd go insane and get sick of it and them very quick. There are so many other great bands and musicians out there that a lot of people who exclusively listen to only pearl jam, or any one band are missing out on.

But I don't think it's every pj fan, just some of the die hard phsyco fans that are about.

This is funny. You can take any two bands in the world no matter how different and they will trash talk eachother. it doesnt matter if it was PJ and Muse, or coldplay, or Green Day, or anyone.

"I dont want a festival with PJ snobs"

"Scott weiland lip syncs, what a fag"

"Atleast we can understand what scott says"

    "blah blah"

Its all just stupid internet talk. I guarantee you if there was such a festival, the majority of the people would have a great time enjoying both bands.

  • They're coming to my neck of the woods this March. My sister asked me the other night if we were going when an ad for their concert was shown on TV, then we looked at each other and laughed uncomfortably while shaking our heads. Purple was good, I still have that album somewhere. I just haven't listened to STP in 13 years and I probably only have Plush in my mp3 library. The thing is, I just outgrew that band. Much like Green Day and Dookie. Oh, and the song snippets they chose for the TV ad were all Core and Purple-era. I think that says a lot.
  • I actually really dig the new one. You should give it a try.

i've seen scott perform 7 times in the past 5 years (4 times with VR, 3 with STP) and he has been amazing each time. i don't get the talk about him being hit or miss. I would think i would have got a couple bad performances during the stretch.

Wow the amount of negative energy here!

STP's newest record is their best since Tiny Music. They still deliver melodies and wicked riffs. As with Pearl Jam we lost those after Yield. Really. Except for Amongst The Waves.

Been listening to both bands since 1993 and STP has managed to keep their originality & at the same time stay fresh.

Backspacer was the first PJ album I didn't buy and have already sold Vs. & Binaural.

I always hoped PJ would suprise us by creating another mastepiece ala Vitalogy (or Yield) but the songs have gotten weaker and weaker with each record. And don't get me wrong, I would LOVE to like them more than I do now. I just can't.

    So he's been miming?

    that sucks.

Still one of the most watchable frontmen out there. He gives it everything when he's onstage.

havent checked in with STP since tiny music really...must fix that
