Cubs Tix

It only took 176 phone calls, but I scored three club box tickets to the April 23rd Cubs/Dodgers game. Any other jammers get tickets to any baseball games this season yet?

I have a partial season ticket package for the Phillies: 17 games. Had it last season too.

I'm not really a Phillies fan, but the games are fun and I really like the team they have and I like Charlie Manuel a great deal.

I would say Philly is my "NL Team", but I dont feel an emotional attachment to them as I do the Sabres, Bills, and Indians. They lose in the NLCS and I dont feel upset (other than making my WS tickets worthless). When they win I dont really get any euphoric feeling (although attending Halladay's PO no-hitter was pretty incredible)

I've grown used to the Cubs losing, which is why it doesn't sting as much any more. But yeah, I live in SoDak so I don't get to see MLB games very often. Most ppl here are Twins fans but the Metradome was a terrible place to see a baseball game. Their new stadium is super cool though, but it doesn't compare to Wrigley Field. It will be my fourth game at Wrigley, hopefully I can finally see the Cubs get a win.

  • I bought a six game plan to entertain a few clients throughout the summer and a game or two for my family.

I'll probably pick up one or two more games today just for fun! The Cubs are gonna suck bad this year unfortunately!

I got tics to all 4 Braves/Cub games at the end of August for my daughter and I. We're Brave fans in Chicago, so it's something we do every year. Should be fun.

Big Braves fan here too. I saw em once at wrigley way back in 97. Millwood lost.
  • I thought about getting tickets.....

Until someone stole my fucking identity last night and wiped out my god damned accounts!!!!!!!!!

Now that I think about it...

Won't be going to as many games at Wrigley as in years past. Went to 20 the year they lost 96 games, what a fn waste. Going to Opening Day (go every year to that) and was able to score tickets for Fridays Sox game over the phone, they changed the computer method for getting tickets and it sucks. Could have got tickets for a Cards game in Aug on the computer but decided not to. I'm going out to Boston for the series out there (never been to Fenway) looking forward to it as it's my bday weekend. Decided to save my money for those games instead. Also got tickets to 4 games at Miller Park "Wrigley North". Glad all my games are before the allstar break cause I don't think they will be in it after the break.

I like both teams. I know its a baseball sin to cheer for both the cubs and the sox but I have since I was like 5 years old.

And if im gonna take the 9 hour drive to chicago, im not going bypass Wrigley for U.S. Cellular Field. If I wasn't able to score these tickets, I was going to try for some of the sox/cubs tickets @ WhiteSox.

Wrigley Field is basically the United States' Roman Coliseum, imo.

Nope, I usually hit all the Business Person's Specials here in Philly but there ain't nothin' out there this year. :o

    I wonder why?? :D:D

I'll have to hit up stub hub if I want Phils tickets this year.
  • I'm a Clevelander so I don't really have to worry about scoring tix. I can pretty much walk over to the park and get tickets from a scalper for less than face.

I do however try to get to Chicago each summer for game at Wrigley. Love that place. Fortunately, i was able to pick up some tickets to the games against the Sox. But man, 75 bucks for a bleacher ticket. Those things just keep going up. Oh well, still an awesome time.

  • If you want to have a good time watching a ball game without the fluff of a kiss cam and dancers on the dugouts, while having a blast before and after at one of the multiple bars in one of Chicago's safest hoods... go to Wrigley.

If you want to go to a corporately sponsored 1/2 full stadium where they fire T-shirts at you from cannons, and risk getting stabbed on the way to or from the El because you are next to one of the nation's most dangerous hoods... go to the Cell.

Oh Mitchie.....again if World Series rings were given out for team with the highest attendance than you guys would be rolling. Whats wrong with a little culture in your team neighborhood? Don't give me that crap about things that are done in-between innings as well. All those things you mentioned make you a Wrigley fan not a Cubbie fan. That’s the difference. Sox fans go and watch the game. Wrigley is a social club. Also we can tailgate why you guys are buying $9 cans of warm Bud at the Cubbie Bear....YUCK.

to each their own bro. Ive been to both stadiums. I just always have the better time at Wrigley. Last time I was there, to my complete surprise Ed threw out the first pitch and sang take me out to the ball game. If I was sittin' at USCF that day, I would have missed it. So yeah, Ill stick with Wrigley.

good chance you would have been the only fan in the stadium that day. home dates only overlap a couple times each season, and they are always day games for one, night game for the other when they do overlap.

It was 07 I believe. Lollapalooza weekend. Epic weekend. It was a friday. Ben Harper headlines and Ed played Masters of War with him. Ed took the stage right when my good time did too. Epically awesome weekend. I cant say it enough. maybe the best weekend of my life.

If this season is anything like last season, you won't be able to give the tickets away after the all-star break..

But by all means, keep pumping the money in and keeping the organization from forcing itself to challenge itself.

The Cubs like to buy big pieces, but they don't like to put them together.

I've got a 17 game phils package. Also got opening day tickets and a few other random weekend games. i'm a baseball degenerate, going to games is one of my favorite things to do.

    5 more weeks

If I would have started this thread by saying I got tickets to any other team's game (excluding maybe the Yankees and Red Sox) the topic would have stayed on baseball - not bashing said team.

Like I said earlier, Im a fan of both. But the mere fact that ChiSox diehards are so defensive here tells me that they do have an inferiority complex. The Sox have played second fiddle to the Cubs for a long time even though they've actually produced on the field, so I guess the defensiveness is a bit justified. But it doesn't come across well.

    fyi
