parking on hills is easy. turn the wheels in and put on the parking brake. the harder thing to do is get going with a manual transmission. ok, it's not really hard, but i'm guessing the clutch wouldn't last as long.
I think I remember signs everywhere showing you to do this.
oh and be sure to go "airbourne" at least once it's like being in a movie!

looks like hotel costs are going to be painful. i'm used to paying 60 for a nice hotel, looking like i'll be lucky to stay under a bill. :x
We LOVED the night tour of Alcatraz. I would do it over the day tour, arrive back at the pier and search out a nice dinner.
Anchor Steam Beer and Gilroys Garlic Fryies at the home of the WORLD CHAMPION GIANTS
A walk through NOrth Beach and up Coit Tower in the morning, catch lunch in the North Beach area (no Beach) but a great pizza shop (North Beach Pizza of course)
Pass on the Stinky Rose. (or something like that) That is tooo much garlic.
Cool bookstores between North Beach and Chinatown.
We got to see the King Tut display at the museum in Golden Gate Park, and the park itself is magical.
The bike ride across the bridge is awesome, like mentioned before.

Anchor Steam....that's the one i couldn't think of. I've had their beer. It's solid.
Californians pretty much suck(unless they're Pearl Jam fans).
one of the reasons why I only lived there for 8 months...I love you though Ryzeup!
The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.
these are Safeco garlic fries...can't promise others put that much garlic on theirs....

I was just out there in August. Fantastic city. Its gonna be colder than you think. Nothing funnier than watching the tourists in shorts and short sleeves walking or biking across the golden gate freezing their asses off.
And whatever you do, dont be THAT guy driving one of those little yellow go carts around town.
The best parts of my trip:
Drinks and small plates at the Alembic bar.
Beers at the Toronado.
Dungeness crab cocktail and a martini at the Tadich grill in the middle of the day-one of the oldest restaurants in the country-I wouldnt eat there, but try the crab or the cioppino at the counter.
Running past the wharf as fast as I could so I could say I was there.
Late night margaritas and huevos racheros at Tommy's.
Spending afternoons sitting at the outside patio at the Zeitgeist, a 420 friendly joint. Pitchers of Lagunitas IPA, cheeseburgers and everybody smoking bowls! Great place.
Taking a day trip up to Tomales Bay and having BBQ oysters at the marshall general store-sitting outside overlooking the water drinking wine and eating oysters!-stopping at hog island on the way back and picking up three dozen more oysters to eat at home.
Also spent four days camping, fishing, hiking, mountain biking up in Sierra county near Downieville/Graeagle-amazing country up there! This is also why all we did was eat and drink when we were in town.
i like beer, she likes shopping. we both like good food at a decent price (one fancy dinner). she likes seafood, i can tolerate a little fish, but prefer real food.
