An hour and 10 mins? Thats all we got...

They always play short shows... I'm pretty sure they only played 1hour 20 minutes when I saw them headline in Toronto last year. But still a great hour and 20 minutes from my experience!

Yeah i guess its just personal preferance. I mean I'm a Phish, Pearl Jam, jamband type of show person. I'm sure if i saw them at a festival where they had a 45 min to an hour set it would be great. I was just expecting a normal 2 hour+ show. Oh well, won't make that mistake again. I guess its the whole "the more you know" concept

Their songs aren't usually as long as Pearl Jam or other bands mentioned. So an hour and 10 min set is usually around 20 songs.

Plus, Dan doesn't do too much talking like Ed does, so that factors in.

I saw then last June in Detroit and thought they were great.

  • now I don't feel so bad about taking a $70 wash on the ticket to see them when I'm going to see EV instead. I wanted to see them live, now I don't. (but still too bad I can't get my money back).

Yeah same man, I saw them at Coachella a few years ago in one of the tents and it was pretty epic.

Only seen the Keys once at a small radio-promoted show here in Jax, but I enjoyed their set! I would definitely check them out again if they came anywhere close. Love the keys!

I've seen 'em three times, and I refused to buy $100 tickets to see them here at the Palladium because my wife and kid always get bored about halfway through the set.

Here's the kicker - the wife and kid are the REAL Black Keys fans of the family. They basically wore out the Brothers CD, and last year at Lollapalooza my daughter was picking grass and looking around and my wife wanted to go use the restroom. I'm like... "Uh, the band is playing, see?"

I very much like their last couple CDs, but they have yet to be a truly "can't miss" live experience for me.
Is it too much to ask for a full-blown Temple of the Dog set? Probably.

Exactly. The Black Keys are good live, they just aren't anywhere near the level of that band whose message board we are currently on so of course some people will say they suck. I thoroughly enjoyed the show in Indy even though it was a bit short for my taste. The only complaint I have about The Keys live is that they don't mix up the songs that they play but if this is your first time seeing them, that won't be an issue for you. Go see them and decide for yourself.
