  • Why dont they just come out and say they didnt want to play the Australian leg of the tour? If I was "down under" I would be thinking.......F@#!#$% YOU Kings of Leon!!!, I mean THE BLACK KEYS!:lol::lol:

I've been thinking the same exact thing. They are scheduling all these other shows but what happened to those cancelled dates in Australia?

The Quebec Festival says that Girl Talk is opening for the BKs; but their website says Cage the Elephant is playing as well...? Anyone have any info on this?

My wife just surprised me with tix to the July 12th show in London, ON. Awesome x10, really looking forward to this show as I have been listening both Cage the Elephant and Black Keys in heaven rotation. She got through at the start of the sale today and we are one section from the stage on the side, 7 rows back should be a great view.

Only problem....being a dedicated Kitchener Rangers fan I have to go to the home of the Dirty Knights to see the show. GO RANGERS GO!!!

Interesting to see that they are cutting the JLC in half, the venue is only 12,000 (max) capacity to begin with so by cutting it in half.....I am excited for this show, my wife doesn't know either band very well and I haven't seen either one yet but I know that this is going to be a killer show and a great way to get the summer going.

    Fuck Yeah!
The last PJ show I went to was the best PJ show ever, that is until they come around again of course

Not going to lie, that was the worst show I've been too in a long time if not ever

An hour and 10 mins? Thats all we got... But we got an hour and 45 mins of Booker T and some other band.

They sound fine, but every song sounds the same.

How exactly is it ok for a band to do something like that?? I'm not going to lie, that is the exact opposite of PJ, Phish, DMB, any band thats been around for long enough to know the fans are the reason they are there. To headline a show and play less music than the fucking openers is a joke. I was pretty excited to see them live but what a fucking waste of time and money. Hopefully whoever else was there had a good time...

Yeah I'm not a fan anymore, I'll listen to their albums but never again will I pay to go see a half assed live show where they are basically robbing people of their money.

Whats even more amazing, a lot of people seemed to think it was the best show they had ever seen.:lol:

The Black Keys suck live.I saw them and Mgmt on the same weekend. Everybody shits on Mgmt live but they blew The Black Keys out of the water. Better performance, better sound and longer set. How is that? Mgmt only had two albums. The Black Keys are so overfluffed it's not funny. Dan has a great voice but their music gets stale after 30 mins. of listening for me.

They always play short shows... I'm pretty sure they only played 1hour 20 minutes when I saw them headline in Toronto last year. But still a great hour and 20 minutes from my experience!

Yeah i guess its just personal preferance. I mean I'm a Phish, Pearl Jam, jamband type of show person. I'm sure if i saw them at a festival where they had a 45 min to an hour set it would be great. I was just expecting a normal 2 hour+ show. Oh well, won't make that mistake again. I guess its the whole "the more you know" concept

Their songs aren't usually as long as Pearl Jam or other bands mentioned. So an hour and 10 min set is usually around 20 songs.

Plus, Dan doesn't do too much talking like Ed does, so that factors in.

I saw then last June in Detroit and thought they were great.
There's a trapdoor in the sun.
  • now I don't feel so bad about taking a $70 wash on the ticket to see them when I'm going to see EV instead. I wanted to see them live, now I don't. (but still too bad I can't get my money back).

Yeah same man, I saw them at Coachella a few years ago in one of the tents and it was pretty epic.

Only seen the Keys once at a small radio-promoted show here in Jax, but I enjoyed their set! I would definitely check them out again if they came anywhere close. Love the keys!

I've seen 'em three times, and I refused to buy $100 tickets to see them here at the Palladium because my wife and kid always get bored about halfway through the set.

Here's the kicker - the wife and kid are the REAL Black Keys fans of the family. They basically wore out the Brothers CD, and last year at Lollapalooza my daughter was picking grass and looking around and my wife wanted to go use the restroom. I'm like... "Uh, the band is playing, see?"

I very much like their last couple CDs, but they have yet to be a truly "can't miss" live experience for me.
Is it too much to ask for a full-blown Temple of the Dog set? Probably.
