A small town outside Windsor, Ontario, not much happens here. Usually look to Windsor or Detroit for my entertainment. Living close to Detroit's nice, within 20 minutes I can be at a lion, redwing or tiger game...tickets are usually reasonable, lots of good shopping in the Detroit area, plenty of concerts. I am hoping they build a new arena downtown that will bring a lot of the concerts back. We have three casinos in the area, 1 in Windsor, 2 in Detroit. The best part is being about 30 minutes from Detroit Metro Airport, get some amazingly reasonable priced flights for vacations...that is so nice.

Just for the record, I've been to Detroit thousands of times and have never encountered a problem, been a victim of crime or even come close :D.

  • The area where I'm from recently had a stint of national headline news, including:

the case where a woman used her baby to hit her boyfriend: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/15197558/ns ... nd_courts/

the case where a woman claims Michael Jordan is the father of her baby:

(in a follow up she has since reverted to suing Paris Hilton:

But my favorite is how the locals reacted when a big Hollywood movie was in town:

Needless to say, I'm no longer living anywhere near these nut jobs.

I've lived here for 10 years and talked to my neighbour 4 times.
Today I asked him if we could borrow his tractor to haul a tyreless van off a rampless trailor.

" No Problem" he said. :P
  • Uxbridge, MA had/has a huge granite quarry in which.a lot of the granite stones at the base of the Statue of Liberty came from.

    Toronto Ontario Canada

    # Toronto's public transit system is the second largest in North America and has the highest per capita ridership rate on the continent.
    # The Toronto Zoo is home to more than 5,000 animals.
    # About 25% of films produced in Hollywood are actually filmed in Toronto, making it North America's 3rd largest TV and movie production venue.
    # The Caribana parade is the largest single-day parade and largest Caribbean festival in North America.

Finally, Toronto has 8 months of winter and 4 months of crappy skating weather
